It was a joy to welcome our scholars to the Himamaylan City Public Library and watch our spaces become a place for new skills, new ideas, and new possibilities. From their first session to their final pitch, we saw their confidence grow and their creativity come to life.

To our scholars, congratulations! May everything you learned here be more than a certificate. May it become a skill you can build on, an opportunity you can pursue, and a step toward the future you envision for yourself.

We are grateful to AmeFil Training and Skills Development Institute and all our partners from TESDA and the Office of Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao who made this learning opportunity possible, and to everyone who supported our scholars throughout the journey.

Here’s to more learning opportunities, more skills, and more Brighter Futures right here at your library. 📚✨

Your library is more than a place to read. It is a place to learn, create, and grow.

Remembering the heroes who shaped our past, and the heroes who continue to shape our present. 🇵🇭📚

This National Heroes Day, the Himamaylan City Public Library joins the nation in honoring the Filipinos whose courage, sacrifices, and service helped shape our country, as well as the modern day heroes who continue to serve and make a difference in our communities every day.

They may not always be found in history books. Some wear uniforms, some teach, some care for others, some serve their communities, and many simply choose to help whenever they can.

May we continue to remember our heroes, learn from their stories, and become part of the continuing story of service and love for our country. 🧡🇵🇭

Our students had a fun time putting their vocabulary and strategy to the test with a game of Scrabble at the Himamaylan City Public Library!

A big thank you to VM Justin Gatuslao for donating Scrabble sets to our library and giving our young library goers another way to learn, play, and connect. 🧡

And we’d love to grow our collection even more! If you have board games at home that you’d like to share, consider donating them to HCPL. Your old favorite could become someone else’s new favorite game. 🎲♟️🃏

A little photo dump from a night under the Piaya Moon! 🌙🥧🎬
Our first ever Community Screening of Under a Piaya Moon brought our kasimanwa together at the Himamaylan City Public Library for two back-to-back screenings as part of our Buwan ng Wika celebration.
From the laughter and kilig to the quiet moments that had everyone glued to the screen, it was wonderful to see our community enjoying a story that feels close to home. And thanks to Merzci and Quan, our viewers didn't just get to see the food that helped bring the story to life. They got to taste it, too! 😋🥧
Our heartfelt thanks to Direk Kurt Soberano, Bakunawa Films, Green Pelican Studios, Jungle Room Creatives, Puregold CinePanalo, and of course our VM Justin Gatuslao for helping us bring this beautiful Negrense story to Himamaylan.
Here are some of our favorite moments from a special evening of film, food, culture, and community. 📸🧡
More stories, more films, and more shared experiences await at the library. Follow our page and join us in the next one!

Happy Ninoy Aquino Day! 🇵🇭

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. His life reminds us that the pursuit of freedom, democracy, and truth requires courage and a commitment to serve the Filipino people.

As we honor his memory, may we continue to value the power of knowledge, education, and informed citizenship in building a better Philippines.

📖 “The Filipino is worth dying for.”

A little bit of Negros, right here at the library. 🌙🥧🎬

Our first ever Community Screening of Under a Piaya Moon brought our library community together for two back-to-back screenings as part of our Buwan ng Wika celebration. It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, stories, familiar flavors, and a whole lot of love for a film that celebrates our culture and identity.

And yes, we didn't just watch the piaya on screen! 😋 Thanks to our generous partners Merzci and Quan, our viewers got to enjoy a little taste of the film, too. 🥧

Our heartfelt thanks to Direk Kurt Soberano, Bakunawa Films, Green Pelican Studios, Jungle Room Creatives, Puregold CinePanalo, and the Office of VM Justin Gatuslao for helping us bring this wonderful Negrense story closer to our community.

Here's to more films, more stories, and more shared experiences at the Himamaylan City Public Library. 📚🧡
