At only 24 years old, General Gregorio del Pilar earned his place in history as one of the youngest generals of the Philippine Revolutionary Army. Affectionately remembered as the "Boy General," he demonstrated exceptional bravery during the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War, inspiring those who served alongside him.

On December 2, 1899, General del Pilar led a small force in the Battle of Tirad Pass, where he made the ultimate sacrifice while delaying advancing enemy troops. His courageous stand provided valuable time for Emilio Aguinaldo and the revolutionary government to continue their withdrawal, cementing his place as one of the nation's enduring military heroes.

His legacy continues to inspire generations of Filipino servicemen and women, reminding us that true leadership is defined not by age, but by unwavering dedication to duty, honor, and country.

“801st Infantry Brigade Commemorates the 77th International Humanitarian Law Month”

Hinabangan, Samar – The 801st Infantry “Bantay at Gabay” Brigade, 8ID, PA, under the leadership of Brigadier General Arlino L Sendaydiego, commemorates the 77th Anniversary of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) with the theme, "Pinalakas Na Ugnayan At Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL" at Camp Eugenio Daza, Hinabangan, Samar.

The observance highlights the importance of International Humanitarian Law in promoting humanity, protecting civilians and other non-combatants, and ensuring respect for human dignity during armed conflict.

Through this commemoration, the 801st Brigade reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of IHL in the conduct of military operations, fostering a culture of professionalism, discipline, accountability, and respect for human rights.
