𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒│𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞

The Tourism Office, in partnership with the College of Business and Management of Ifugao State University – Lagawe Campus, conducted a two-day Community Development Extension Activity on August 13–14, 2026, at the KALAHI Building.

The activity provided participants with hands-on learning and practical applications in Homestay Operations, Basic Food and Beverage Service Setup, Culinary Presentation, and Table Setting.

Through demonstrations, discussions, and practical exercises, participants gained valuable skills designed to improve the quality of accommodation, food service, and hospitality offered within the community.

This initiative highlights the importance of continuous capacity-building in empowering local communities and strengthening the delivery of tourism services—ultimately contributing to a more welcoming, sustainable, and community-driven tourism experience in Ifugao.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖 | The Benteng Bigas Meron Na Rice Project, implemented under the KADIWA ng Pangulo Rice Program, is now available to qualified beneficiaries at the Municipal Gymnasium through the coordination of the Provincial Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Office (PAENRO) and the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), and in partnership with Food Terminal Inc. (FTI).

A total of 1,000 sacks of rice have been allocated for qualified farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). Each eligible farmer may purchase up to 50 kilograms of rice for only ₱1,000.00, or ₱20.00 per kilogram.

The program also caters to other priority beneficiaries, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, who may purchase up to 30 kilograms of rice.

The initiative seeks to provide affordable and accessible quality rice to priority sectors, while contributing to food security and helping ease the financial burden on Filipino families.

Malacañang Palace has declared Friday, September 11, 2026, a special non-working holiday throughout the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Under Proclamation No. 1389, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declared September 11 a special non-working day in lieu of September 13, 2026, a Sunday.

The holiday commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1986 “SIPAT,” or the Mount Data Peace Accord, an agreement that paved the way for the establishment of the Cordillera Administrative Region through Executive Order No. 220, issued on July 15, 1987.
