The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hingyon celebrated Municipal Legislatorsโ Day on October 7, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium, gathering provincial, municipal, barangay, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials to recognize the vital role of local legislators in governance and public service.
Anchored on the theme, โServing our Beloved Hingyon Through Quality Legislative Services,โ the celebration underscored the importance of responsive legislation, community engagement, and collaboration in advancing the welfare of the people of Hingyon.
Guest speaker Hon. Reachelle Takinan-Balagsa, President of the Provincial Councilors League (PCL)โBenguet Chapter, emphasized that legislation should extend beyond the passage of ordinances and resolutions, translating instead into meaningful improvements in the lives of constituents.
In her message, Takinan-Balagsa highlighted the importance of listening to communities, responding to their needs, empowering the youth, and upholding unity, integrity, and compassion in public service.
She called on local leaders to serve with humility, emphasizing that public service is a privilege, leadership is a responsibility, and the people deserve nothing less than the best from their elected officials.
Messages were also delivered on behalf of Hon. Jerry U. Dalipog, represented by his executive assistant, Ms. Nora Dinamling, and Hon. Martin โOmarโ L. Habawel Jr., represented by Mr. Davis Pulao.
The celebration featured also the native and cowboy dance competitions, parlor games, a volleyball tournament and the Katarungang Pambarangay facilitated by Atty. Eugene Balitang. It concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winners of the various competitions and the distribution of certificates to participants of the Municipal Legislators Fun Run held on October 6.
Through the annual celebration, the LGU of Hingyon provided an opportunity for local legislators and officials to come together, recognize their respective roles in governance, and reaffirm their commitment to delivering quality legislative services.
