📌 Hinigaran Honors MSME Winners at 1st HUGYAW Trade Fair 2026
April 30, 2026 — Hinigaran, Negros Occidental

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center Hinigaran, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinigaran led by Hon. Mary Grace S. Arceo, successfully held the awarding ceremony for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that participated in the 1st HUGYAW MSMEs Trade Fair 2026.
The event forms part of the celebration of the 48th Hinugyaw Festival of the Municipality of Hinigaran, highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation of local businesses.
Outstanding MSME exhibitors were recognized for their exemplary booth presentation, product quality, and overall performance during the trade fair.
The winners are as follows:

📍Champion – Booth No. 4 (Ruby Shellcraft and Niyogross Association)

📍 1st Runner-up – Booth No. 3 (Tagz Slippers and Sandal's Manufacturing, Olea Shellcraft and FACD Association

📍 2nd Runner-up – Booth No. 7 (Tito Sen's Food Products Manufacturing, MIWA and Miwofa Association)

The winners received cash prizes along with Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the success of the event.
The HUGYAW MSMEs Trade Fair aims to promote local products, support small businesses, and stimulate economic growth within the municipality.
The initiative underscores the continued partnership between DTI and the LGU in empowering MSMEs and fostering a thriving local business community.

📌 The Municipality of Hinigaran officially commenced its celebration of the Hinugyaw Festival with a series of activities highlighting local enterprise and community collaboration.

On April 25, 2026, the festival marked the Day of Ingress for the 1st "HUGYAW" MSME Trade Fair, setting the stage for participating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to prepare their booths and exhibits.

Today, April 28, 2026, the festival reached a significant milestone with the formal Launching and Ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 1st "HUGYAW" MSME Trade Fair.
The event was led by Honorable Mayor Mary Grace Arceo, alongside members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Hinigaran. Distinguished guests, including representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI): Provincial Director Engr. Lynna Joy B. Cardinal, Engr. Engiemar B. Tupas, Chief Trade and Industry Specialist, and Gabriel Advincula, Trade-Industry Development Specialist (TIDS).
Also present were representatives from the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC), namely Ms. Denise Angela Jose, Ms. April Mar Jardeliza, Mr. Joseph Ryan Cuadra, and Ms. Mae Selene Resultay, a professor from the University of Saint La Salle and a business owner.

The MSME Trade Fair aims to showcase and promote locally produced goods while providing entrepreneurs an opportunities to expand their market reach. It also serves as a platform to strengthen support for local industries and encourage economic growth within the municipality.

As part of the event’s highlights, participating exhibitors will take part in various activities, including a Booth Contest and the Top Grosser competition, which are designed to recognize creativity, innovation, and business performance.

The Hinugyaw Festival, celebrated from April 28 to 30, continues to emphasize community pride, cultural heritage, and the empowerment of local enterprises.

April 23,2026- Hinigaran, Negros Occidental

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center Hinigaran, in collaboration with a Civil Society Organization (CSO), successfully conducted a Basic Entrepreneurial Seminar for members of the Narauis Farmers Association (NARFA) at barangay Hall of Barangay Narauis.

The seminar aimed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial knowledge and skills needed to start and manage a small business. Attendees gained valuable insights into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including business planning, financial management, and identifying market opportunities.

In addition, the discussion covered loan financing programs offered by the Small Business Corporation, providing participants with information on accessible funding options to support their future business ventures.

The activity highlighted the commitment of DTI and its partners to empower local farmers by enhancing their capacity to engage in sustainable livelihood and entrepreneurial activities .
