As part of the MSME Week 2026 celebration, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center Hinigaran, in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinigaran headed by Hon. Mayor Mary Grace S. Arceo, successfully conducted a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) Seminar at the 2nd Floor of the Negosyo Center Building.
The seminar aimed to equip local MSMEs, particularly food producers, with essential knowledge on food safety, mandatory product labeling, packaging standards, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements to improve product quality and ensure regulatory compliance.
Mr. Rohel P. Tabayay, Trade-Industry Development Specialist (TIDS) for the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP)โNorth, discussed Food Safety and Mandatory Product Labeling, while Mr. John McHale Benid, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist (STIDS), presented Product Packaging Standards and FDA Requirements.
The activity was attended by OTOP Hub MSME exhibitors and local producers from Hinigaran, who actively participated in the discussions and gained practical knowledge to strengthen their businesses.
Through this initiative, DTI Negosyo Center Hinigaran reaffirmed its commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs by providing capacity-building programs that promote quality production, regulatory compliance, and the sustainable growth of MSMEs.
