SPINNING SUCCESS OF MYE LAUNDRY SERVICES
Ms. Myra Roxas Tanyag and family lives in United Arab Emirates. She works in a coaching industry; her husband is in logistics and their daughter a Junior Highschool student. They have a good life in the Middle East. Came July 2025, Mr. Tanyag has a new work assignment in Saudi Arabia. With this, she and her child decided to go back and stay in the Philippines for good, for a long-term plan.
Her first few months were busy fixing school requirements for her girl, arranging their household and settling back in. Then, idle days came. Being employed for years, she thought of something that will make her productive. Luckily, she was surrounded with family and circle of friends who have a laundry shop. They encouraged her to put up one, showing their support from location scouting, purchasing the equipment down to learning the daily operation. At first, she was hesitant. But with their encouragement, Mye Laundry Services was born.
Mye Laundry Services was registered at Department of Trade and Industry, Negosyo Center of Ibaan last December 17, 2025 with business address at Barangay Tulay na Patpat, Ibaan, Batangas. A fully registered business. Her first customers were her neighbors. They just didn’t bring laundry, they brought referrals. The community didn’t just support her business, they made her feel she belonged. Ms. Myra quoted, “Her goal is not to simply earn, but to build a good relationship in the community”.
She attended two trainings facilitated by Negosyo Centers of Ibaan, Rosario, Padre Garcia and San Juan. First training was about Smart Financial Planning for Business Growth. Here, she learned the importance of recording, monitoring of daily expenses and proper managing of her laundry shop. Second training was Strengthening Local Digital Presence wherein she understands that social media is an essential tool for business marketing and community building that connects over millions of people. On July 29, 2026, Ms. Myra attended the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Conference at Batangas City Convention Center with a theme, “Asenso: Alagang Gabay sa Tagumpay ng Batangueño MSME”. The MSME Conference gave Ms. Myra to set goals for her business. She was inspired by the owner of Itaewon Café. From there, she had a plan to put another laundry shop or open a food business.
Ms. Tanyag was very grateful for the assistance of Department of Trade and Industry through its Negosyo Center of Ibaan. She proves that coming home is the beginning of a bigger one.
