The opening program gathered participating vendors and their representatives in a simple yet meaningful setting within the venue grounds, where attendees assembled comfortably beneath the shade of a mango tree, creating a warm and grounded atmosphere for the occasion. The gathering served as a moment of encouragement and recognition for the individuals and groups participating in the trade fair.
Present during the opening ceremony were Hon. Jose Halipan, Chairperson of the MLGU Aguinaldo Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Trade and Commerce; Atty. Jayzar Kyle A. Mallong, Executive Assistant II, representing Clemente S. Talusig; Joseph J. Odan; Hon. Joel Maguiwe, President of the Aguinaldo Liga ng mga Barangay; and Hon. George N. Limante, Jr., Barangay Captain of Ubao, the host barangay of the event.
Representatives from partner agencies and government offices also joined the activity, including the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine National Police, the Ifugao Police Mobile Force Company, and other partner offices in support of local livelihood and economic initiatives.
In his message, Joseph J. Odan emphasized that the trade fair was organized to uplift vendors and exhibitors amid the continuing effects of the oil crisis and rising economic challenges. He underscored that while the event may not be extravagant, it carries an important purpose of helping local sellers generate income, showcase their products, and sustain their livelihoods.
Following the short program, a ribbon cutting ceremony officially marked the opening of the trade fair, welcoming the public to visit the different booths, explore products, and support participating exhibitors and entrepreneurs.
As evening unfolded, the Banchetto added excitement to the celebration, transforming the venue into a lively space for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Shoppers and visitors enjoyed live musical performances from singers from Roxas, creating a vibrant atmosphere as guests explored the fair and enjoyed the night.
More than just a commercial activity, the Harrison Rodeo Trade Fair and Banchetto stands as a celebration of resilience, livelihood, and community support, highlighting the determination of local vendors and entrepreneurs while adding color and vitality to the Harrison Rodeo Festival 2026./ihm
