To deliver accessible healthcare services to geographically isolated communities, a second Mental Health Awareness and Drug Prevention Advocacy cm Panalimun Program was successfully conducted on May 22, 2026, at Natcak, Camandag.
A total of 51 individuals availed dental services, 21 underwent laboratory services, two completed the HEADSSS Assessment, 12 participated in Random Drug Testing, 11 joined the blood donation drive, 14 underwent PHILPEN Risk Assessment, and 45 residents availed PhilHealth services.
Meanwhile, 14 women underwent breast and cervical cancer screening, with one client referred for mammogram after testing positive, while 11 clients underwent Vaginal Inspection with Acetic Acid, wherein one client tested positive and was referred to a higher healthcare facility.
During the activity, Punong Barangay Mario Bacdangan emphasized the importance of community participation in promoting health awareness and preventive healthcare initiatives. Municipal Health Officer Dr. Mianie N. Licyayo-Umalco highlighted the significance of mental health advocacy, drug prevention, and early health interventions in strengthening community health programs. Midwife II Genelyne L. Dulnuan discussed the objectives of the program during the opening activity.
The activity also featured several IEC sessions facilitated by healthcare personnel and social service workers. Louice L. Lunag discussed Cervical and Breast Cancer Awareness, emphasizing the importance of early detection, regular screening, and health awareness among women. Meanwhile, Social Worker I Ophelia G. Elder facilitated the discussion on Gender Awareness and Sensitivity, promoting respect, equality, and understanding of gender-related concerns within the community. Nurse II Melaida T. Gahid spearheaded the session on Mental Health Awareness and Drug Prevention, including Substance Abuse and Anti-Smoking Advocacy. The discussion focused on common mental health concerns, stress management, the harmful effects of drug use and smoking, and the importance of making healthy and informed decisions.
The program provided various healthcare services and screenings to residents. PSWDO Psychometrician Menalyn Nginhena facilitated the HEADSSS Assessment while PHILPEN Risk Assessment were facilitated by Jovelete Hagada and Shen Claire Rosete. Camille Joy D. Ocampo facilitated HIV Screening and HBSAG Testing, while Dr. Lynette Buhong-Pullupul rendered dental services. Louice L. Lunag and Genelyne L. Dulnuan facilitated cervical and breast cancer screening, while Genevive Pumihic conducted Random Drug Testing.
Kagawad Rosa Ollagon conveyed appreciation to all participants, facilitators, healthcare workers, and partner agencies for their support and active participation in the successful conduct of the program.
