AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ Officials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Ifugao paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Municipal Mayor on June 2, 2026, to strengthen collaboration and discuss ongoing and future initiatives that may benefit the municipality.

The delegation was headed by Engr. Max Bernard Codamon, Provincial Director of DOST-Ifugao, and was joined by Engr. Don Ognayon, Engr. Senen Bunolna, and Ms. Agustina Upang. They were warmly received by Mayor Clemente S. Talusig at the Municipal Hall.

During the meeting, the DOST officials and Mayor Talusig discussed various programs and projects previously implemented in the municipality through the support of DOST. The discussion highlighted the positive impact of these initiatives on local communities and underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the agency and the local government.

Discussions likewise focused on prospective DOST assistance and programs that may be implemented in the municipality, including initiatives promoting green technology, support for water resource development, scholarship grants, and other science and technology interventions aimed at improving the quality of life of residents. The meeting served as an opportunity to identify priority areas where DOST and the Local Government Unit of Aguinaldo can further collaborate in advancing sustainable and inclusive development.

Mayor Talusig expressed his appreciation for DOST's continued support and recognized the agency's valuable contributions to the municipality's development efforts. AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ A total of 109 aspiring civil servants successfully submitted their applications for the Career Service Examination โ€“ Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) during the application and submission activity conducted at the Municipal Agriculture Conference Hall on June 2, 2026.

The activity provided residents of Aguinaldo and nearby communities with an accessible venue to process and submit their applications for the upcoming Civil Service Examination, reducing travel costs and bringing government services closer to the people.

Applicants completed the required documentary requirements and underwent the necessary verification process to secure their applications for the examination. The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the coordination of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Local Government Unit of Aguinaldo, and personnel who assisted applicants throughout the submission process.

The applicants are expected to take the Career Service Examination โ€“ Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for both Professional and Subprofessional levels on August 9, 2026. The examination serves as a gateway for individuals seeking eligibility for first- and second-level positions in government service.

Mayor Clemente S. Talusig expressed his appreciation to the Civil Service Commission personnel, municipal employees, and all individuals who contributed to the successful conduct of the activity. He also commended the applicants for taking a significant step toward professional growth and public service by pursuing civil service eligibility.

The Mayor encouraged prospective examinees to prepare diligently for the upcoming examination and wished them success in their pursuit of careers in government service.

Meanwhile, interested individuals who have not yet submitted their applications may still apply until June 10, 2026 through the CSC's online application system. The application period runs from May 14 to June 10, 2026, with filing conducted online through the CSC Online Civil Service Examination Application System (OCSEAS). A total of 15,150 examination slots have been made available for the August 9, 2026 examination.

The activity concluded with 109 applicants successfully completing and submitting their requirements, demonstrating the continued interest of residents in obtaining civil service eligibility and contributing to effective and responsive public service.

AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ The Municipality of Aguinaldo celebrates the achievement of Alvea Mainggang Bumaca, a graduating student of Rufino I. Chungalao Senior High School, for successfully qualifying for the 2026 Department of Science and Technologyโ€“Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship Program.

Bumaca emerged as the lone qualifier from the Municipality of Aguinaldo among the thirteen (13) successful scholarship qualifiers from the Province of Ifugao, earning a place in one of the country's most competitive scholarship programs for aspiring scientists, engineers, and technology professionals.

The 13 qualifiers from Ifugao form part of the 8,500 scholarship qualifiers nationwide, selected from a record-breaking pool of 97,617 examinees who took the qualifying examinations conducted on February 21โ€“22 and March 7โ€“8, 2026, in testing centers across the country.

The DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional aptitude in science and mathematics and supports deserving youth in pursuing priority degree programs in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and related fields. Through the scholarship, recipients are provided with financial assistance and academic support to help them complete their tertiary education and contribute to the country's scientific and technological advancement.

As a DOST scholar, Bumaca will be entitled to a comprehensive package of benefits, including a monthly living allowance, learning materials and connectivity support, thesis assistance, transportation allowance, graduation assistance, accident and health insurance coverage, and tuition support for those enrolled in private higher education institutions.

AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ Education stakeholders gathered on June 2, 2026, for the Local School Board (LSB) Meeting of the Municipality of Aguinaldo, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening educational programs and addressing the needs of schools across the municipality.

Presided over by Municipal Mayor Clemente S. Talusig, the meeting was attended by Virginia C. Amogan-Batan, CESO VI, Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Ifugao, Jacqueline C. Lunag, Chief Education Supervisor of the Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), members of the Local School Board, the DepEd 500-Ifugao Team, the Aguinaldo District personnel, and school heads from the municipality's elementary and secondary schools.

A key agenda of the meeting was the allocation of Local School Board funds based on the priority needs of schools in Aguinaldo. To ensure continuous coordination and timely action on educational concerns, members likewise agreed to conduct regular Local School Board meetings every last Friday of the month.

During the discussions, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Virginia C. Amogan-Batan presented the policy guidelines for the implementation of the three-term school calendar in basic education. She also encouraged teachers and school heads to warmly welcome learners during the opening of classes and emphasized the importance of fostering positive relationships and strengthening the education system to support student learning and development.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline C. Lunag, Chief Education Supervisor of SGOD, echoed the call for a welcoming and learner-friendly school environment. She encouraged school personnel to warmly receive learners as they return to school and to observe professionalism, including the proper wearing of uniforms.

Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Gina Attaban presented updates on teacher requirements and the status of school site titling across the district. She highlighted ongoing efforts to address staffing needs and property concerns to further support the delivery of quality education in Aguinaldo.

For his part, SB member Hon. Chamson M. Chang-goy, Chairman Committee on Education, encouraged educators and stakeholders to continue supporting the local government's education initiatives. He emphasized that no child in Aguinaldo should be left behind and reminded school heads to leave a positive footprint in their respective schools by building a lasting legacy through dedicated leadership and service.

Mayor Talusig underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among the local government, the Department of Education, and other stakeholders in ensuring that learners receive quality educational services and opportunities for growth.

A major highlight of the meeting was the turnover of 22 Smart Television units donated by SN Aboitiz Power, which were awarded to 22 schools across the municipality. The television units are expected to enhance classroom instruction through technology-assisted learning and provide teachers and learners with additional educational resources that support interactive and innovative teaching methods.

The recipient schools expressed their gratitude to SN Aboitiz Power, the Local Government Unit of Aguinaldo, and the Department of Education for their continued support in improving learning facilities and promoting quality education.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment among local officials, education leaders, and school administrators to work together in advancing educational development and ensuring that every learner in Aguinaldo has access to quality, inclusive, and responsive education.

AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ The Municipality of Aguinaldo was formally recognized as a recipient of the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) for the 2025 Audit, reaffirming the local government's commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in the community.

The plaque of recognition was presented by Samson B. Appoy, Cluster Head of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Ifugao, during the Aguinaldo Local Government Unit Flag Ceremony held on June 1, 2026.

Receiving the award on behalf of the municipality were Municipal Mayor Clemente S. Talusig, Municipal Vice Mayor Ricky B. Uchayan, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, namely Hon. Nitz Guinay B. Paynohon, Hon. Joel C. Maguiwe, and Hon. Chamson M. Chang-goy, together with Municipal Budget Officer Vicente O. Bonaton and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Helaria B. Wacoy.

Peaceful Rodeo Festival and Upcoming Gotad Preparations Highlight June 1 Flag Ceremony
AGUINALDO, IFUGAO โ€“ Updates on public safety, upcoming municipal activities, and community events were among the key topics discussed during the Aguinaldo Local Government Unit (LGU) Flag Ceremony held on June 1, 2026.
The program opened with an inspirational message based on 2 Corinthians 6:2, reminding municipal employees and officials of the importance of serving with dedication and commitment.
Representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), PLT JIM A KINOMON, OIC, reported that the recently concluded Rodeo Festival was conducted peacefully, with no untoward incidents recorded throughout the celebration. The PNP also shared that the municipality has remained generally peaceful over the past two weeks.
During his final remarks, Mayor Clemente S. Talusig expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the Rodeo Festival. He gave special recognition to the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), Punong Barangay George Limante, volunteers, and all individuals who rendered service despite challenging weather conditions.
The Mayor also shared his relief that no illnesses or injuries were reported during the event and acknowledged the sacrifices made by organizers, participants, and municipal employees to ensure the success of the celebration. He encouraged continued cooperation among members of the Finance Committee, Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), Gotad Committee, and the Sangguniang Bayan in the implementation of upcoming municipal activities and Gotad participation.
He likewise extended his appreciation to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for their efforts in maintaining the safety and security of residents and visitors throughout the Rodeo Festival.
Additionally, HRMO Kenelyn Dulnuan announced that the "Salamat at Paalam" program for MSWD head Helaria Wacoy is scheduled on June 11, 2026, and encouraged participants to wear something blue during the event.
The Flag Ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment among municipal officials and employees to continue working together in delivering quality public service and ensuring the successful implementation of programs and activities for the people of Aguinaldo.
