🚑MATAGUMPAY NA NAISAGAWA ANG 2-DAY BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY RESPONDERS- BATCH 3🚑

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang Ng 38th National Disaster Resilience Month na may temang "Naghahanda at Kumikilos tungo sa Isang Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas", matagumpay na isinagawa ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Iguig sa pamumuno ng butihing Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad, sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) sa pangunguna ni Ms. Katrina Mae S. Bañares, Officer-in-Charge, ang 2-day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for Community Responders- Batch 3. Ang aktibidad na ito ay nilahukan ng mga Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Rescue 517 members at ilang mga community volunteers.

Naging matagumpay ang pagsasanay sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Health- Health Emergency Management System (DOH-HEMS) sa pangunguna ni Mr. Allan L. Sibal, Development Management Officer IV, katuwang ang mga BLS- trained personnel ng Rural Health Unit (RHU) at Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) bilang mga resource persons at facilitators.

Isinagawa rin ang aktibidad sa pamamagitan ng koordinasyon at suporta ng Community and Family Services International (CFSI), na nagsilbing partner agency at nagbigay ng counterpart para sa pagsasagawa ng makabuluhang pagsasanay.

Sa loob ng dalawang araw, nabigyan ang mga community responders ng mahahalagang kaalaman at kasanayan sa tamang pagtugon sa mga emergency kabilang ang Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), paggamit ng Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) Management o pamamahala sa choking, at iba pang mahahalagang life-saving interventions. Sa pamamagitan ng mga lecture, demonstrasyon at hands-on practical exercise, mas napalakas ang kahandaan ng ating mga community responders sa pagtugon sa iba't ibang uri ng emergency at sakuna.

Ang aktibidad na ito ay sumasalamin sa patuloy na layunin ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Iguig na mapalakas ang kakayahan ng mga mamamayan at makapagtaguyod ng isang ligtas, handa, at matatag na komunidad.

The Local Government Unit of Iguig, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), successfully facilitated the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake (NSED) 2026 on June 18, 2026 at Puregold-Iguig Branch located at Barangay Ajat, Iguig, Cagayan with the active participation of the establishment's employees.

Prior to the conduct of the drill, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Iguig Fire Station under the supervision of Fire Marshal Mona Lisa De Guzman conducted a brief orientation to provide participants with the necessary information and instructions ensuring a clear understanding of earthquake response procedure, individual roles, and safety measures.

Upon sounding of the siren, participants promptly performed the "Duck, Cover and Hold" Technique and proceeded orderly to the designated evacuation area. Members of the MDRRMC Composite Team consists of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office & Rescue 517, Rural Health Unit, Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine National Police served as evaluators during the drill.

The conduct of this significant drill aimed to raise awareness, enhance preparedness, and strengthen the capacity of employees to respond effectively and safely during an earthquake, thereby minimizing the risk of injuries and property damage. Moreover, it promoted a culture of disaster preparedness and resilience while highlighting the readiness of the community to respond to emergency situations.

LPA SA LABAS NG PAR, ISA NANG GANAP NA BAGYO—PAGASA

Isa nang ganap na bagyo ang minomonitor ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA ) na Low Pressure Area (LPA) sa labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Sa datos ng PAGASA, huling namataan ang bagyo sa layong 2,085 km silangang ng silangang bahagi ng Visayas, taglay ang lakas ng hangin na 55km/h malapit sa gitna at pagbugso na 70km/h.

Patuloy na kumikilos ang bagyo pakanluran sa bilis na 15 km/h at posibleng bukas ng gabi o umaga ng Linggo ay papasok na ng PAR.

Bibigyan ng lokal na pangalang "Francisco" ang bagyo sa oras na ito'y pumasok ng PAR at posibleng maabot ang kategoryang "typhoon" sa araw ng Linggo.

Mababa umano ang tsansang maglandfall ang naturang bagyo pero posibleng magtaas ng Tropical Cyclone wind signal sa mga lugar sa silangang bahagi ng Hilagang Luzon.

Posible ring palakasin ng bagyo ang Habagat na magdadala ng pag-uulan lalo na sa kanlurang bahagi ng bansa.

Kaugnay nito, hinimok ng PAGASA ang publiko na manatiling nakaantabay sa kanilang inilalabas na abiso ukol sa nasabing sama ng panahon.

Samantala, ngayong Biyernes, Hunyo 19, 2026 localized thunderstorm ang patuloy na nakaaapekto sa lalawigan na posibleng magdadala ng pulu-pulong pag-uulan lalo na sa hapon at gabi. (Digna Bingayen)

The Local Government Unit of Iguig under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 2 conducted Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training Course which started today, November 25 and will end on November 27, 2025 at Casa Caridad, Nattanzan, Iguig, Cagayan.

The said training was attended and participated by different department heads, PNP and BFP personnel, LGU employees, various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Rescue 517 members, volunteers and other responders in the municipality.

The training's objective is to fully capacitate the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) members, LGU employees, CSOs, rescuers and responders for effective incident management during disasters, incidents and planned events and to equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate and lead during emergency situations, in response to the growing need for effective crisis management strategies.

Mayor Trinidad warmly welcomed all the participants, facilitators and trainers of this activity and emphasized the importance of conducting Basic Incident Command System Training Course in the municipality.

The Local Government Unit of Iguig under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) facilitated the Fourth (4th) Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) CY 2025 with the participation of teachers and students of Gammad Elementary School.

Orientation or briefing was conducted by BFP personnel for the purpose of providing participants with the necessary information and instructions to ensure proper understanding of procedures, roles, and safety measures during the earthquake drill.

The participants performed the DUCK, COVER and HOLD Technique as the siren started and proceeded to the designated evacuation area. Members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) served as the evaluators of the said drill.

This significant drill/exercise aims to raise awareness, enhance readiness and develop the ability of the participants to respond quickly and safely in the event of an earthquake, thereby minimizing injuries and damage. It also promote and strengthen earthquake preparedness and highlights the readiness of the community during disaster.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Iguig sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) na pinamumunuan ng butihing Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad ay nagsagawa ngayong araw ng Pre- Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting kaugnay sa paparating na masamang panahon. Ayon sa latest forecast ng DOST-PAGASA, ang Tropical Storm "Uwan" ay papasok sa Biyernes ng gabi o madaling araw ng Sabado sa Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at may posibilidad na aabot sa Super Typhoon Category sa araw ng Linggo. Inaasahang buong rehiyon ng Luzon ay maaapektuhan ng nasabing bagyo. Posibleng pagtama nito sa lupa ay aasahan sa araw ng Lunes sa probinsya ng Isabela o Aurora ngunit may tsansang magbago ang track nito. Kaugnay nito, pinag-usapan sa naturang pagpupulong ang mga gagawing hakbang at maigting na paghahanda para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga nasasakupan. Pinapayuhan ang bawat isa na maging alerto at handa anumang oras.
