The Local Government Unit of Iguig under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 2 conducted Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training Course which started today, November 25 and will end on November 27, 2025 at Casa Caridad, Nattanzan, Iguig, Cagayan.

The said training was attended and participated by different department heads, PNP and BFP personnel, LGU employees, various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Rescue 517 members, volunteers and other responders in the municipality.

The training's objective is to fully capacitate the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) members, LGU employees, CSOs, rescuers and responders for effective incident management during disasters, incidents and planned events and to equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate and lead during emergency situations, in response to the growing need for effective crisis management strategies.

Mayor Trinidad warmly welcomed all the participants, facilitators and trainers of this activity and emphasized the importance of conducting Basic Incident Command System Training Course in the municipality.

The Local Government Unit of Iguig under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) facilitated the Fourth (4th) Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) CY 2025 with the participation of teachers and students of Gammad Elementary School.

Orientation or briefing was conducted by BFP personnel for the purpose of providing participants with the necessary information and instructions to ensure proper understanding of procedures, roles, and safety measures during the earthquake drill.

The participants performed the DUCK, COVER and HOLD Technique as the siren started and proceeded to the designated evacuation area. Members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) served as the evaluators of the said drill.

This significant drill/exercise aims to raise awareness, enhance readiness and develop the ability of the participants to respond quickly and safely in the event of an earthquake, thereby minimizing injuries and damage. It also promote and strengthen earthquake preparedness and highlights the readiness of the community during disaster.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Iguig sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) na pinamumunuan ng butihing Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad ay nagsagawa ngayong araw ng Pre- Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting kaugnay sa paparating na masamang panahon. Ayon sa latest forecast ng DOST-PAGASA, ang Tropical Storm "Uwan" ay papasok sa Biyernes ng gabi o madaling araw ng Sabado sa Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at may posibilidad na aabot sa Super Typhoon Category sa araw ng Linggo. Inaasahang buong rehiyon ng Luzon ay maaapektuhan ng nasabing bagyo. Posibleng pagtama nito sa lupa ay aasahan sa araw ng Lunes sa probinsya ng Isabela o Aurora ngunit may tsansang magbago ang track nito. Kaugnay nito, pinag-usapan sa naturang pagpupulong ang mga gagawing hakbang at maigting na paghahanda para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga nasasakupan. Pinapayuhan ang bawat isa na maging alerto at handa anumang oras.

Sa ikalawang araw ng Standard First Aid Training Batch 2 na isinagawa ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Iguig sa pamumuno ng butihing Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad at sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office sa pangunguna ni Mrs. Susan S. Darauay ay naituro sa mga kalahok na kinabibilangan ng mga kawani ng RHU, Rescue 517 Drivers at mga Child Development Teachers dito sa bayan ng Iguig ang mga Bandaging Techniques at Splinting, tamang paraan ng pagbubuhat at paglilipat ng pasyente upang bigyan ng pangunang lunas. Dahil sa galing at husay ng mga tagapagsanay sa pangunguna ni Mr. Allan Sibal, Development Management Officer IV ng DOH, ay nagkaroon ng karagdagang kaalaman ang bawat kalahok sa iba't-ibang konsepto ng Standard First Aid partikular sa Bandaging, Splinting, Carry, Moving and Transferring.

Ang Lokal na pamahalaan ng Iguig sa pamumuno ng butihing Mayor Hon. Juditas L. Trinidad at sa pamamagitan ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) sa pangunguna ni Mrs. Susan S. Darauay, LDRRMO ay kasalukuyang isinasagawa ang Batch 2 na pagsasanay ng Standard First Aid ngayong araw, October 15, 2025 na magtatapos sa October 17, 2025 sa Municipal Evacuation Center 1, Barangay Ajat, Iguig, Cagayan.

Ang nasabing pagsasanay ay nilahukan ng mga personnel ng RHU, Rescue 517 Drivers at mga Child Development Teachers/Workers dito sa bayan ng Iguig. Ang nagsilbing mga tagapagsanay sa naturang aktibidad ay mula sa Department of Health sa pamamagitan ni Mr. Allan L. Sibal, Development Management Officer IV kasama sina Mr. Paolo Alejandro Pulido, RN, Mr. James John Padirayon, RN at Mr. Rey Mark Arizaba, Chief Rescuer mula sa bayan ng Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

Ang pangkalahatang layunin sa isinasagawang First Aid Training ay mapalakas ang kakayahan ng mga kalahok na makapagbigay ng agarang tugon sa mga emergencies upang makapagligtas ng buhay, makaiwas sa komplikasyon at mapalakas ang kahandaan ng komunidad. Dahil sa galing at eksperto ng mga tagapagsanay, maipapaalala at mapalalim pa ang kaalaman ng mga lay rescuers at healthcare providers sa updated na pamantayan at pamamaraan sa pagbibigay ng paunang lunas o first aid at makakatulong ito upang maiwasan ang pagkakamali at mas mapapabilis ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong medikal sa komunidad.

Sa panimulang araw ng naturang aktibidad ay nagbigay ng mensahe at pinasalamatan ni Mayor Trinidad ang mga mahuhusay na Trainors sa paglalaan nila ng oras at dedikasyon sa pagbibigay ng kaalaman sa mga kalahok. Nagpaabot din siya ng pagbati sa lahat ng mga kalahok ng nasabing pagsasanay.

Matatandaan na unang isinagawa ang Batch 1 ng Standard First Aid Training noong August 27-29, 2025.
