Iguig National High School had its humble beginning as Ajat Barrio High School which was established at the grounds of Iguig Central School under the incumbency of no less than Mr. He was a generous person who planned and started to put up an instruction which would focus on the need of the society-education. As one of the great men in the town, the late mayor wished that his fellow Iguigeรฑos espe

cially the youth would use education in attaining their goals in life. The school started with a handful population offering first to third year levels during its first year of operation. Due to the rapid growth in enrolment which was an indication to its success, the site was transferred to a hilltop near the church. Eventually, its name was changed to Iguig Municipal High School, during the incumbency of Miss Felisa Peรฑafiel, concurrent principal of Iguig Central School. In response to the needs of the growing age group, this school had been continuously been giving its benevolent services to the community especially in the molding of the youth as recipient to literacy and other developmental program of the society,

School year 1971, the school had its first eight graduates. This event gave rise to the greater commitment of the school to the community and gave birth to Iguig Barangay High School. Iguig Barangay High School had continually expanded and enriched its academic programs where more subjects relevant to the needs of the community have been enriched through curricular offerings. The development empowered the school and from its starting level of first to third year, the fourth year level was added. After years of striving in the stream of educative purpose, the school had become Iguig National High School. Now, through a resolution made by Sangguniang Bayan enacting Municipal Ordinace No. 33, which was approved on October, 2007, Iguig national High School is renamed to Vicente D. Trinidad High School in honor of its founder. Trinidad High School is envisioned to produce efficient, effective, functional and productive citizens in a value-laden teaching-learning environment and within a technology-driven society. It seeks to provide an excellent quality of basic education services that are accessible relevant and equitable to the learners. Its aims to sustain the utilization of ICT in the teaching-learning processes enhance studentsโ€™ competencies in ICT, equip teachers with necessary ICT knowledge, skills and attitude, increase awareness of parents on the values of ICT, and network with external stakeholders regarding fiscal aspect on the maintenance of the schoolโ€™s computer laboratory. Furthermore, Vicente D. Trinidad High School is one of the biggest schools in Cagayan, manned by forty-two (42) teachers and 5 staff, which seats on a hilltop adjacent to the Calvary Hills (of the tourist spots within the Municipality of Iguig. In 2010 the school opened its extension classes at Sta. Rosa, Iguig, Cagayan. The school upholds the core values of interconnectivity and DepED program advocacies and is committed to the principles of responsibility, accountability, and empowerment.

๐—•๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ง๐—” | Wastong Nutrisyon at Kalusugan, Isinulong ng VDTNHS sa Pamamagitan ng Sining

Upang palakasin ang kamalayan ng mga mag-aaral ukol sa masustansyang pamumuhay, nagsagawa ng Poster Making Contest ang Vicente D. Trinidad National High School (VDTNHS) sa Computer Laboratory ng paaralan noong nakaraang Huwebes, Hulyo 30.

Ang naturang kompetisyon ay ginanap mula 3:30 hanggang 5:00 ng hapon bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Nutrition Month 2026. Nilahukan ito ng mga kinatawan mula sa iba't ibang antas kasama ang kani-kanilang mga tagapagsanay.

Isinagawa ang aktibidad batay sa School Memorandum No. 12, s. 2026 na nilagdaan ni School Principal Leo R. Banatao. Layunin nitong itaguyod ang wastong nutrisyon, linangin ang malusog na gawi sa pagkain, at hikayatin ang aktibong pakikilahok ng mga mag-aaral sa mga programang pangkalusugan ng paaralan.

Ipinamalas ng mga kalahok ang kanilang likha at talento sa pagbuo ng mga poster na nagpapakita ng kahalagahan ng tamang nutrisyon at pangangalaga sa kalusugan ng kabataan.

Matapos ang masusing paghatol ng mga hurado, itinanghal na kampeon si Ezekiel Jimenez mula sa Ika-9 na Baitang. Nasungkit naman ni Czymitch Kvelle Fernando ng Ika-8 Baitang ang ikalawang pwesto, habang pumatak sa ikatlong pwesto si L-Jay Gaspar na mula rin sa Ika-9 na Baitang.

To reinforce health literacy and nutrition awareness among learners, Vicente D. Trinidad National High School (VDTNHS) hosted its annual Nutri Quiz at the schoolโ€™s Science Laboratory on Thursday, July 30.

The competition, supervised by the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) department under the leadership of overall host Gayle Mallillin, challenged student representatives from all grade levels on their mental acuity and mastery of essential health concepts.

The academic tilt was conducted pursuant to School Memorandum No. 12, s. 2026, issued by School Principal Leo R. Banatao, which aims to promote balanced diets, foster lifelong healthy eating habits, and encourage active learner participation in campus wellness initiatives.

Organizers highlighted that the contest served as a valuable platform for both participants and coaches, emphasizing that the primary goal goes beyond winning - instilling practical health knowledge that learners can apply in their daily lives.

Following a competitive showcase, the Grade 10 tandem of Krysta Derito and AJ Peralta emerged as champions after scoring 26 points. Grade 9 secured second place with 21 points, while Grade 7 and Grade 8 finished third and fourth, scoring 19 and 16 points, respectively.

In search of student-athletes to represent the institution in upcoming athletic meets, Vicente D. Trinidad National High School will hold its Boxing Event Division Elimination Round on July 30, 2026, at the SHS Gymnasium, from 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM.

The selection process is open to qualified male students across the School Boys, Junior Boys, and Youth Boys divisions. Interested participants may refer to the official graphic below for the specific weight categories.

Vicente D. Trinidad National High School (VDTNHS) made a splash at the Cagayan Sports Complex on Wednesday, July 22, pulling off a sensational silver-bronze double finish in the Secondary Girls 50-meter swimming event at the Minabbanga Festival 2026.

Vhier Mae C. Apolanio led the charge for VDTNHS, slicing through the lane to claim the silver medal with a time of 1:17.24. Not far behind, teammate Princess Giliane Marie N. Gammad outlasted a tough field to touch the wall in 1:19.87, securing the bronze and sealing a dual-podium takeover.

The duo showcased remarkable composure from the opening dive to the final touch, holding their ground against fierce competitors and reinforcing the school's rising stature in aquatic sports.

Under the guidance of Coach Marvie Gammad, the pair's podium sweep provided a significant boost to VDTNHSโ€™s overall medal count - a direct result of relentless training, sharp discipline, and an unwavering drive to elevate their schoolโ€™s athletic legacy.
