As part of the SKโ€™s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) initiatives and the Sulong Edukalidad Project, the SK Alinguigan 2nd launched Project CARE (Child and Road Safety Enhancement) an initiative dedicated to promoting a safer environment for children and the school community.

As part of the project, two โ€œSLOW DOWN โ€“ SCHOOL ZONEโ€ barricades were put in place at Alinguigan 2nd Integrated School to remind motorists and other road users to slow down, stay alert, and exercise extra caution, especially during school hours.

A simple reminder can make a big difference. Slow down. Stay alert. Protect our children.

As part of its commitment to empowering and supporting the youth, SK Alinguigan 2nd extended its assistance to the Alinguigan 2nd Integrated School Flying Termites by providing vitamins to help maintain the cheerdancers' health and energy during their preparations, and โ‚ฑ5,000 financial assistance for their upcoming JLD Cheerdance Competition.

This initiative reflects the SK's dedication to promoting youth development and helping young talents pursue excellence. May this support inspire our Flying Termites to perform with confidence, determination, and pride as they represent our school and community.

SK Alinguigan 2nd Chairperson Hon. Christine Mae Navarro actively attended and participated in the National Disaster Resilience Month Culminating Activity held at the City of Ilagan Capital Arena. The activity provided valuable insights on disaster preparedness, resilience, and the importance of community collaboration in building a safer and more resilient society. The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Alinguigan 2nd participated in the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme, "๐™‰๐™ช๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ ๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™†๐™–๐™ก๐™ž๐™ ๐™–๐™จ๐™–๐™ฃ, ๐˜ผ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™‹๐™–๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™–๐™ก๐™–๐™œ๐™–๐™–๐™ฃ," held at the Alinguigan 2nd Multipurpose Hall on July 24, 2026.

The celebration emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and caring for our environment, recognizing that a healthy community begins with healthy people and a healthy planet. SK Chairperson Christine Mae Navarro, together with SK Kagawad Jei-Kean L. Hernandez and Junior Rescue Team Member Christian Villarial, successfully completed the 3-Day Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM) Training Course for Youth held at Pulsar Hotel Suite, Tuguegarao City.

The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in disaster preparedness, risk reduction, emergency response, and community resilience, empowering young leaders to become proactive partners in building safer and more disaster-ready communities.

This training was conducted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Office II in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon (OPANL).

As we continue to strengthen our commitment to youth development and community safety, the knowledge gained from this training will be shared and applied in future disaster preparedness initiatives for the youth and residents of Barangay Alinguigan 2nd.
