The Provincial Government of Isabela through its Provincial Youth Development Office has extended technical assistance by serving as one of the judges during the Agri-Preneur Pitching organized by the City Government of Cauayanโ€™s Youth Development Office last April 23, 2026 held at the Youth Development Center, San Fermin, Cauayan City, Isabela.

Mr. Rey Mel C. Resposo, YDO IV, serving as one of judges evaluated the proposed projects and initiatives of 16 youth organizations in a two-level pitching competition. Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Arlene Castillo and Assistant Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ms. Lalaine Delmendo were the other judges from the provincial government who served as pitching judges.

The activity aimed at highlighting the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial potentials of the youth sector in the field of agriculture. It served as a platform for young individuals to present sustainable agri-enterprise solutions that address current challenges in food security, climate resilience, and local economic development.

The winners of this year agri-preneur pitching are as follows: The GreenGuard Hub Project by Engage PH which received a project grant prize of Php 15,000.00; Labongkayo by Barkada Kontra Bisyo of Cauayan City National High School which received Php 10,000.00; and Brick-Cycle by the Supreme Secondary Learners Government of Cauayan City Stand-Alone Senior High School which received the amount of Php 5,000.00 as project grant.

Meanwhile, also present during the activity was PYDOโ€™s Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Adrian Philip S. Baysac, who delivered his solidarity message during the competition encouraging the participants to engage in agriculture and innovation projects to help the city and provincial government towards promoting food security, entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture.

The Provincial Government of Isabela through its Provincial Youth Development Office has extended technical assistance by serving as one of the panelists/judges during a Policy Hackathon organized by Isabela State University โ€“ Echague Campusโ€™ Supreme Student Council (SSC) as part of its Studentsโ€™ Festival 2026.

Mr. Rey Mel C. Resposo, YDO IV, serving as a judge evaluated the policy proposals of some 13 student body organizations (SBO) which were based on impact and relevance, feasibility, innovativeness, and presentation skills. Aimed at empowering student leaders and organizations to actively engage in shaping the universityโ€™s future by crafting policies that address student welfare, academic environment, research, and innovation, the policies were generally anchored on the ISU thrust of promoting sustainable goals.

Among the adjudged winners of the policy contest included a policy proposing a Massive Open Online Course and Micro-credentialing System by the College of Computing Studies, Information and Communications Technology (CCSICT); โ€œWalang Kaplastikanโ€, a policy for the reduction of single-use plastics in ISU by the College of Business, Accountancy and Public Administration (CBAPA); the Menstrual Equity and Wellness Act by a group students from CBAPA; and AI-Ready ISU: a university-wide policy on responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence by the College of Education (CED).

Meanwhile, also present during the activity was PYDOโ€™s Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Adrian Philip S. Baysac, who served as a guest of honor and who extended the support of the provincial government in the said activity by underscoring the importance of youth and student participation in policy and decision-making in molding the future of the university and the province, as a whole.
