The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Lanao del Norte has 51 Shared Service Facilities Projects since 2013 and 20 of them are successfully transferred to its respective cooperators. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the productivity and efficiency of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Lanao del Norte and Iligan City by providing them with improved access to technology.

These shared facilities are intended to assist targeted beneficiaries in augmenting their production capacities, thereby leading to enhanced product quality. Consequently, this improvement is expected to result in expanded market reach, increased sales, and the generation of employment opportunities.

The Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project operates as a public-private partnership initiative, executed through cooperative efforts. Cooperators play a crucial role in facilitating the housing of machinery and equipment, making them readily accessible to MSMEs. This collaborative approach aims to empower local businesses and contribute to the overall economic development of the region.

DTI Lanao del Norte encourages business entities involved in manufacturing, repackaging, toll manufacturing, distribution/import/export, trading, or wholesaling of health products to obtain a license to operate from the FDA.

The license to operate is an authorization issued by the FDA to an establishment to grant permission to undertake a trade or carry out a business activity, such as manufacturing, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, or transfer of food products. A business establishment with such certification has a bigger and wider market reach.
