The City Mayor’s Office – Gender and Development (CMO-GAD), headed by LGU-GAD Focal Person Renefe Mosot-Padilla, with the leadership and support of Hon. Frederick W. Siao, City Mayor of Iligan, together with Hon. Michelle E. Sweet, SP Chairperson on Women, Gender and Development, successfully conducted the Official Turnover of the VAWC Desk Office for Barangay Sta. Elena, strengthening the barangay’s commitment in protecting and supporting women and children in the community. πŸ’œβœ¨

The program formally opened through the message of support of Hon. Nino Remo, Barangay Captain of Barangay Sta. Elena, who emphasized the importance of strengthening frontline services and ensuring accessible assistance for women and children experiencing violence and abuse.

Also present during the activity was the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) headed by Evelyn S. Madrio, RSW, represented by Lani Maglangit, RSW and Jephine Apostol, who delivered messages of support and reaffirmed the continued partnership and commitment of CSWD in promoting responsive, compassionate, and gender-sensitive services within the barangays.

The activity also recognized the dedication and frontline service of Gene C. Villasan, VAWC Desk Officer of Barangay Sta. Elena, for continuously serving as a vital support system in addressing cases involving violence against women and children and ensuring that victims and survivors are provided with proper assistance, referral, and protection.
