On August 12, 2026, the City Mayorโs Office โ Gender and Development (CMO-GAD) convened the Joint Technical Working Group (TWG) for GAD Infrastructure to discuss progress updates, technical assessments, and strategic directions for the continued development of the Women Crisis Center and Child-Minding Center.
The meeting commenced with opening remarks from Renefe M. Padilla, OICโDivision Head of CMO-GAD and LGU GAD Focal Person, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among partner offices in ensuring that the GAD Infrastructure remains responsive to the needs of women, children, and other vulnerable sectors.
Among the highlights of the meeting were the Construction Updates presented by Engr. Leonor Actub, Head of the City Engineerโs Office (CEO), providing updates on the current status and development of the facilities. This was followed by the DRRM Assessment presented by Michael Joey Hernando, representing Armien Alloro, Head of the Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ICDRRMO), which focused on safety measures, disaster preparedness, and risk mitigation considerations for the infrastructure.
The discussions were further enriched by the guidance of Maida B. Daniot, CESO V, City Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), who emphasized the importance of strong local governance, inter-agency coordination, and shared accountability in advancing gender-responsive programs and infrastructure. Her message reinforced the vital role of collaboration in ensuring the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of the project.
Also present was Evelyn S. Madrio, RSW, Department Head of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), who shared valuable insights on strengthening services and support mechanisms for women and children. Both officials delivered closing messages encouraging continued partnership and commitment among member agencies.
The activity was conducted in support of Hon. Frederick W. Siao, City Mayor of Iligan, and Hon. Michelle E. Sweet, SP Chairperson on Women, Gender and Development, with the active participation of concerned department heads, technical personnel, and partner representatives.
๐ Through the Joint TWG, CMO-GAD and its partner agencies continue to work hand in hand in strengthening gender-responsive infrastructure and creating safer, more accessible, and inclusive spaces for women and children in Iligan City.
