CCTV SAVES THE DAY | Two Terminals, One Team, One Mission 🎥📱

What could have been a permanently lost cellphone became a story of quick action, technology, and teamwork.

On August 19, 2026, a passenger bound for Cagayan de Oro noticed that his cellphone was missing after leaving the IBJT East Terminal. He immediately sought assistance, prompting terminal personnel to review the CCTV footage. The footage helped establish what happened to the missing phone and provided information that assisted in tracing it.

But the effort did not stop at one terminal.

Through coordination between IBJT East and IBJT West personnel, together with the assistance of police personnel, the cellphone was eventually recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

This incident shows why our CCTV systems are more than just cameras on the wall. Combined with alert employees, proper monitoring, quick communication, and cooperation between our terminals, they become an important tool in protecting the riding public.

👏 Kudos to the personnel of IBJT East and IBJT West, our CCTV operators, and everyone who assisted. Your teamwork turned a simple security system into meaningful public service.

ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR EEDMO | Stronger System, Better Service 💙

A significant step forward for the Economic Enterprises and Development Management Office (EEDMO) as the Omnibus EEDMO Code of Iligan City has been approved on Third and Final Reading by the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

More than just an ordinance, the Omnibus EEDMO Code provides a clearer framework for how we manage the City's economic enterprises—defining our mandate, functions, responsibilities, and regulatory processes while strengthening accountability and efficiency in our operations.

Our sincere appreciation to Councilor Bernard Y. Pacaña, author and sponsor of the measure, and to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for supporting this important institutional milestone.

For the men and women of EEDMO, this is both an achievement and a responsibility. A stronger system must translate into better management, improved revenue generation, and, most importantly, better public service for every Iliganon.

There is still much work ahead, but today, we celebrate progress. 💙

BEHIND THE SERVICE | The People Who Keep the Work Moving 💙

August 27, 2026 | Central Market

Recovery continues.

EEDMO met with the fire-affected Central Market stallholders to discuss the proposed design and layout of the temporary stalls—another important step toward helping our vendors return to business and rebuild their livelihood.

But behind every meeting, site inspection, coordination, plan, and decision are the employees of EEDMO, headed by Ma’am Agnes M. Clerigo-Maingat, together with Sir Charles Ouano and the Central Market team, who have continued working from the day of the fire up to the ongoing recovery efforts.

The past few days have not been easy. There are long hours, urgent concerns, difficult decisions, and many things that need to be accomplished at the same time. Pagod, yes—but the work continues. Laban lang.

Because leadership is not only about giving directions. It is about showing up, listening, working alongside your people, and continuing to find solutions even when everyone is already tired. And service is never the work of one person—it takes a team willing to carry the responsibility together.

To our EEDMO employees, thank you for continuing to work behind the scenes and on the ground for our affected vendors.

One step at a time, we move from response to recovery.

EEDMO IN ACTION | From Response to Recovery ❤️

Not a single day is being wasted.

From the day the fire struck the Central Market, our efforts have continued—responding to the immediate needs of our affected vendors and helping them move forward one step at a time.

Today, rice and sleeping kits from the CDRRMO were distributed to our affected vendors, together with Mayor Frederick Siao, Councilors Bernard Pacaña and Derrick Siao, and Kap. Anthony Pacaña.

From responding during the fire to providing basic necessities afterward, the work continues. Recovery does not happen overnight, but through continuous action, cooperation, and genuine service to our community.

Our heartfelt thanks to CDRRMO and our city officials for standing with our vendors during this difficult time.

FROM ASHES, WE RISE. ❤️‍🩹

The fire may have damaged our Central Market, but it did not destroy our spirit. In this difficult time, we witnessed the true meaning of unity, service, and compassion.

Our heartfelt thanks to our EEDMO electricians — Mr. Yacumba and Mr. Hinon of Central Market, the Talam brothers from Tambo Market, Mr. Guinal of Fish Landing, and Mr. Valencia of Slaughterhouse — for coming together and helping us take the first steps toward recovery.

Special thanks to Mayor Siao, Ma’am Agnes, Sir Darwin Manubag, Sir Ritchie, Sir Ernie Libot, Sir Abel, Ma’am Bing, Ma’am Loina, Sir Marlon Clapano, BFP, Barangay Poblacion, PNP Station 5, Traffic, ICOD, CSWD, Engr. Gilbert Valencia, Architect Rex Napoles Dago-an, and our Central Market staff and Market Police.

Stronger Market, Better Community. 🤝

EEDMO successfully conducted an Assembly Meeting with Meatshop Owners and Market Meat Dealers to discuss key concerns affecting the local meat industry, including pork pricing and compliance with permits, laws, and regulations.

Through open dialogue and coordination, EEDMO continues to work with our stakeholders toward fair business practices, stronger compliance, and a safe and orderly marketplace for everyone.

Productive brainstorming and coordination meeting with our partner support groups—ICOD, ICTPMO, CSU, PSD, and Barangay Palao—in preparation for the future opening of the New Palao Market.

The discussion focused on developing effective plans and coordinated measures to ensure that the new public market will be secure, systematic, sanitary, accessible, and people-friendly for vendors, customers, and the entire community.

Through collaboration and shared commitment, we are working toward a safer, cleaner, and better-organized New Palao Market for all Iliganons.

The IBJT Terminal Board Meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of various stakeholder groups and concerned offices. The meeting focused on key matters affecting terminal operations, development projects, and services for passengers, drivers, operators, tenants, and other stakeholders.

Through the active participation and collaboration of the different stakeholders, the EEDMO remains committed to maintaining a safer, more organized, and efficient terminal while supporting the continued development of IBJT.
