The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Sub-Port of Iligan, under the leadership of Port Collector Nasrudin D. G**o and with the guidance Commissioner of Customs Ariel F. Nepomuceno successfully completed its Internal Quality Audit conducted by the Interim Internal Quality Management System Office (IIQMSO) on August 18โ€“19, 2026, further strengthening the Sub-Portโ€™s commitment to quality, integrity, accountability, and continual improvement.

The two-day audit was led by Ms. Karen Susan G. Rofes, together with auditors Ms. Amalia B. Apolonio, Ms. Arneth Von Carmen G. Manquiquis, and Ms. Penafranzia S. Bagacina, who assessed the implementation, conformity, and effectiveness of the Sub-Portโ€™s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, including applicable amendments.

The Sub-Port had only three (3) audit findingsโ€”one (1) Positive Finding and two (2) Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs)โ€”representing the fewest findings recorded by the Sub-Port to date. The results underscore the sustained efforts of its personnel to strengthen internal controls, improve existing processes, address areas for enhancement, and consistently deliver efficient and quality customs service to its stakeholders.

The successful conduct of the IQA also forms part of the Sub-Portโ€™s continuing preparations for its upcoming External Surveillance Audit by TรœV SรœD, as it seeks to sustain its ISO 9001:2015 certification and further enhance the effectiveness of its Quality Management System.

Beyond ISO compliance, this accomplishment likewise supports the I AM BOC Movement of Commissioner Nepomuceno, which advances Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization across the Bureau. Through the continuous improvement of its systems and processes, stronger accountability mechanisms, and adoption of initiatives that promote efficient and responsive customs service, the Sub-Port of Iligan continues to translate the principles of the I AM BOC Movement into concrete actions at the local level.

Port Collector G**o expressed his appreciation to the IIQMSO audit team for its valuable guidance, objective assessment, and continued support in strengthening the Sub-Portโ€™s QMS. He likewise commended the QMS Team, Division Chiefs, Unit Heads, process owners, and all personnel of the Sub-Port of Iligan for their collective dedication, cooperation, and commitment throughout the audit process.

The latest audit milestone reflects the Sub-Port of Iliganโ€™s continuing journey toward institutional excellence and continual improvement, reinforcing its commitment to an effective and responsive Quality Management System while advancing the Bureau of Customsโ€™ broader transformation agenda under the IAM BOC Movement.
