The 1st Public Hearing on the proposed Iligan City Right to Care Ordinance was successfully conducted today, marking another significant step towards advancing compassionate, people-centered, and inclusive healthcare in our city.
The public hearing was led by the ordinance's principal author, Hon. Nhicolle Capangpangan, and was attended by various government agencies, stakeholders, civil society organizations, healthcare advocates, and community representatives, including Akbayan Youth โ Iligan & Lanao Chairperson, Jhune Ace A. Lubang, who joined the discussions in support of the measure.
The meaningful exchange of ideas, recommendations, and sectoral perspectives demonstrated the community's shared commitment to ensuring that every Iliganon has the right to designate a trusted Health Care Proxy during medical emergencies and health-related situations, regardless of family structure or circumstance.
