The University Library is delighted to announce the addition of four (4) complimentary copies of 𝙆𝘼𝘼𝙂𝙄: 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻 to its collection, generously donated by the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

Authored by the esteemed faculty members of the History Department, 𝙆𝘼𝘼𝙂𝙄 offers a comprehensive and well-researched exploration of Iligan City’s rich historical, cultural, and social heritage. More than a scholarly resource, it is also a celebration of identity, stories, and the legacy that continues to shape the 𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘴 and the wider community.

Copies of 𝙆𝘼𝘼𝙂𝙄 will be available at the 𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺-𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘍𝘚𝘊𝘚), 𝘊𝘈𝘚𝘚 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺, and 𝘊𝘌𝘋 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺. We warmly invite students, faculty, researchers, and history enthusiasts to discover this treasure and deepen their understanding of Iligan’s past. 📖

The University Library is honored to announce the receipt of a remarkable collection of books on Islamic studies, Bangsamoro history, culture, and related fields, generously donated by the Bangsamoro Library and Archives of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

We extend our sincerest appreciation to Bangsamoro Library and Archives, under the leadership of 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗦. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗮 and 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗕. 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦||𝗠𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗜𝗜𝗧

The Mindanao State University System (MSUS) President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, conducted a tour of the library renovation project at the MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) campus. MSU-IIT Chancellor Atty. Alizedney M. Ditucalan guided the President through the facilities, viewing the completed smaller library section before observing the ongoing work on the main, larger library space located on the third floor. The tour provided a direct look at the progress of the modernization efforts, which are designed to eventually provide the university community with expanded digital infrastructure, collaborative learning areas, and enhanced study sections.

The visit focused on viewing the transition from completed spaces to those still under active construction. This campus tour highlights the ongoing institutional efforts to upgrade facilities and integrate technological advancements across the system. Work continues on the third-floor phase of the project to ensure the entire facility becomes fully operational for students and faculty.

The MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology University Library, in collaboration with the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 (𝗨𝗟𝗖), proudly participated in the "𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼" 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿, held at SM Downtown Cagayan de Oro on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟴–𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The University's participation reflects its continuing commitment to strengthening its print collections in support of academic instruction, research, and curricular development. The MSU-IIT delegation comprised selected faculty members who serve as ULC representatives from different colleges, led by its Chairperson, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗔. 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗮, Dean of the College of Engineering, together with the University librarians headed by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗚. 𝗔𝗹𝗶, Head of the University Library. The event provided the delegation with the opportunity to evaluate and select newly published academic and reference materials from various publishers and identify updated resources that align with the University's academic programs, research priorities, and accreditation requirements.

This Mindanao Book Fair brought together librarians, educators, students, publishers, and book suppliers from across the country, showcasing a diverse collection of academic and professional resources. The participation of the University Library and the University Library Committee (ULC) highlights MSU-IIT's commitment to providing relevant, current, and high-quality information resources that support teaching, research, and lifelong learning while empowering faculty, researchers, and students in their pursuit of academic excellence. ✨

It’s a wrap!✨

Phase 1 of the University Library Extension Program (January–June 2026) officially concluded on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. Implemented through the 𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, headed by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗟. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮, this initiative reflects the University's commitment to extending its knowledge, expertise, resources, and services beyond the campus to promote learning and meaningful community engagement.

This extension project, entitled "𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘴: 𝘖𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘑𝘔𝘗-𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯," led by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗚. 𝗔𝗹𝗶, Head of the University Library, together with selected library personnel, aims to strengthen the rehabilitative and educational efforts of the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗕𝗝𝗠𝗣) by providing organized library resources for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

We extend our warmest congratulations to the BJMP Iligan City Jail – Male Dormitory, headed by 𝗝𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝗔. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲, City Jail Warden, and the entire BJMP personnel for championing this initiative and establishing what is envisioned to be one of the country's most organized jail libraries. The project recognizes the transformative power of reading in fostering personal growth, lifelong learning, and positive behavioral change, while supporting opportunities for sentence reduction through educational programs.

While Phase 1 has successfully concluded, this is not the end of our journey. We are excited to move forward with Phase 2, continuing our shared mission of advancing education, promoting literacy, and strengthening community engagement.

Together, we affirm that libraries are more than repositories of books — they are powerful instruments of transformation, hope, and second chances. ✨
