On August 5, 2026, the Iligan City Police Office Task Force OSAEC, serving as the lead unit, successfully conducted an Entrapment and Rescue Operation along Cabili Avenue, Brgy. Poblacion, Iligan City for the violation of Republic Act No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act). Republic Act No. 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003), Republic Act No. 7610, enacted on June 17, 1992, is known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act
The operation resulted in the apprehension of a 22-year-old female facilitator (mother) and the safe rescue of a two-year-old female child victim. The rescued child was immediately turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) β Children Assessment and Processing Center for proper care, protection, and intervention, while the suspect was brought to ICPS 5 for appropriate legal procedures.
This successful operation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the ICPO Task Force OSAEC, ICPS 5, CIDMU, RIDMD 10, WCPC-MFU, PAOCC, DOJ RACETTF 10, DOJ Iligan City Prosecutorβs Office, and CSWD Iligan City.
The operation was led by PMAJ ALEXANDER C. LAWAN, Team Leader of ICPO Task Force OSAEC, under the supervision of PLTCOL REYNANTE DOLDOL, Chief, CIDMU, and with the overall supervision of PCOL MARIO M. BAQUIRAN, JR, City Director, ICPO.
The operation was conducted with the active support of DOJ NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM, International Justice Mission Philippines (IJM), and together with our international law enforcement agency partners, the Netherlands Police, United Kingdom National Crime Agency (UKNCA), and the Australian Federal Police for their continued assistance, collaboration, and shared commitment in protecting children and strengthening law enforcement efforts against online exploitation.
We also sincerely thank the Local Government Unit of Iligan City and the City Mayor Freddie Siao Frederick Siao for their unwavering support and commitment in protecting the children of our community.
