1002nd CDC and Partner Agencies Conducted Mangrove Planting Activity in Iligan City

On April 27, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Rommel A. Endozo, PA, Director of the 1002nd Community Defense Center, 10th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, led organic and reservists personnel from 1002nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion in a mangrove planting activity held at riverside of Splanade, Barangay Santiago, Iligan City.

The activity was spearheaded by Frederick W. Siao in collaboration with various Local Government Units (LGUs) in Iligan City. The initiative aimed to promote environmental protection, strengthen coastal resilience, and support climate change mitigation efforts. Mangroves play a vital role in protecting coastal communities from storm surges, preventing shoreline erosion, and serving as habitats for diverse marine species.

The active participation of the 1002nd CDC organic and reservist personnel underscores the Philippine Army Reserve Force’s commitment not only to national security but also to environmental stewardship and community development.

Through this initiative, participating organizations reaffirmed their collective responsibility to preserve natural resources and ensure a sustainable environment for future generations.

LOOK....The 1002nd CDC Participates in civic-military Parade in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.

On April 24, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Rommel A. Endozo PA, Director of the 1002nd Community Defense Center, 10th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, led the participation of one platoon from Alpha Company, 1002nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion in a civic-military parade held at the Municipality of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.

The activity was spearheaded by Rommel C. Arnado, in coordination with various partner agencies, including the 44th Infantry Battalion, 1ID, PA; Kauswagan Police Station personnel; PNP Special Action Force; Local Government Units (LGUs); Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs); and the Kauswagan Fire Station, BFP.

The civic-military parade highlighted the strong collaboration among uniformed services and local government sectors in promoting community awareness, unity, and public service. It also demonstrated the Philippine Army Reserve Force’s continuing commitment to support civil-military operations and community engagement initiatives.

The presence of the 1002nd CDC and reservists personnel underscored their vital role in nation-building, disaster response readiness, and strengthening the partnership between the military and the civilian populace.

A day of tribute, unity, and tradition! The Lakad-Kalayaan, Wreath-Laying, and Flag Raising Ceremonies were successfully conducted, bringing together veterans, organic personnel, reservists, PNP personnel, ROTC cadets, and civilian guests in honoring the enduring legacy of our heroes.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our Guest of Honor and Speaker, Hon. Rossil S. Abrero, Barangay Chairman of Suarez, Iligan City, for his inspiring message, and to Lieutenant Colonel Rommel A. Endozo, Director of the 1002nd Community Defense Center, 10th Regional Community Defense Group, for highlighting the gallantry of reservists in the historic Battle of Bataan.

LOOK...Highlighted...On February 8, 2026, the 1002nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Frederick W. Siao PA (Res), together with the 1st Lanao del Norte Ready Reserve Field Artillery Battery, supervised by Major Edwin M Tamala PA (Res), conducted a Clean-Up Drive and Clearing Operation with Task Force Iligan, the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, and various Philippine Army units and Local Government Units (LGUs) of Iligan City, in connection with the effects of Bagyong Basyang.

The activity was spearheaded by Lieutenant Colonel Rommel A. Endozo, Philippine Army, and carried out in the affected areas of Barangay Mahayahay and Barangay Tubod, Iligan City. The operation focused on debris clearing, restoration of access routes, and the provision of assistance to communities adversely affected by the recent weather disturbance.

This undertaking underscores the Philippine Army Ready Reserve Force’s continued commitment to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations, in close coordination with Task Force Iligan, the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, partner units, and local government agencies, to ensure public safety and support community recovery efforts.

The Philippine Army remains steadfast in its mission to serve the people and secure the nation, especially during times of calamity.
