As part of the opening ceremony of the Pakaradiyaan Festival 2025, 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗢𝘀𝗶𝗼 and 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗦. 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝗮 proudly represented the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) during the Maranao-Inspired Costume Contest held on July 14, 2025.

The event, which brought together representatives from various city government offices, aimed to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage of the Maranao people, a vital part of the city’s diverse identity. The contest was not merely a showcase of intricate traditional attire, but a meaningful tribute to cultural pride, inclusivity, and unity across sectors of the local government.

Wearing elegantly crafted traditional ensembles inspired by Maranao design, Architect Osio and Ms. Arda stood as symbols of respect for local traditions and the evolving role of public servants in cultural advocacy.

📌𝗖𝗣𝗗𝗢 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

Engr. Janzen Paul H. Wong of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) represented the City Government of Iligan during the Face-to-Face Harmonization of SubayBAYAN Project Updates and Simultaneous Encoding and Enrollment of FY 2025 Local Investment Monitoring and Evaluation (LIME). The activity was held on July 15, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Conference Room, DILG Provincial Office, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the session aimed to synchronize the reporting of project updates, ensure the proper enrollment of FY 2025 projects, and address challenges in the SubayBAYAN platform, DILG’s digital monitoring tool for locally funded programs.

Through this initiative, participating LGUs were guided in aligning their data with national standards, contributing to greater transparency and accountability in local governance. The CPDO continues to strengthen its commitment to timely project reporting and investment monitoring in line with national directives.

📢 LOOK | Empowering Barangays Through Strategic Financial Orientation

The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) of Iligan City, under the leadership of EnP Elsa M. Maquiling, successfully held an Orientation on the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) last April 30, 2025, at Mahogany Hills, Pala-o, Iligan City.

The event was attended by representatives from 44 barangays, all working together to gain deeper understanding of the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) under the FY 2025 General Appropriations Act of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). The orientation emphasized proper fund utilization, transparent planning, and strengthened local governance.

✔️ DILG Iligan City Director Maria Maida B. Daniot, CESE, with a message of encouragement
✔️ DBM-X Senior Budget Specialist Mr. Mark Welnorr M. Callao, who presented the program’s guidelines

💡 With facilitation from CPDO staff including Ms. Pacita B. Halibas and Ms. Renee Mosot-Padilla, participants discuss on implementation strategies and planning their “ways forward.”

This collaborative initiative reaffirms the City Government’s dedication to capacitating barangays as vital partners in inclusive and sustainable development.

🌾Strengthening Local Agriculture Through Strategic Planning🌾

On April 28, 2025, the City Program Management and Implementing Unit (CPMIU) of Iligan City—the designated local implementing body for the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP)—convened a strategic and results-driven meeting at the ICGEMPC Hostel Building, Pala-o, Iligan City.

In attendance were CPMIU members and their official representatives, who actively participated in comprehensive discussions aimed at identifying and validating the key priority commodities of Iligan City. These commodities will form the foundation of the City Commodity Investment Plan (CCIP), ensuring that the plan is responsive to local agricultural potential, aligned with market demands, and grounded in inclusive development goals. Responds to market needs, and aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The meeting highlighted PRDP’s key components:
