DAVAO DEL NORTE DELEGATION VISITS ILIGAN CITY LEDIP OFFICE FOR BENCHMARKING

The Province of Davao del Norte, led by Mr. Arturo Manigo, Jr., Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations, together with Jovenar Miedes, LEDIP Designate, and their delegation, conducted a benchmarking visit to the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Office of the City Government of Iligan.

The visit aimed to gain valuable insights into the operations and best practices of Iligan City’s LEDIP Office, particularly in the areas of investment promotion, investment opportunities, and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives.

The delegation was welcomed by the LEDIP Office, where discussions centered on Iligan City’s strategies in promoting the city as an attractive investment destination, facilitating potential investments, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector. The exchange also provided an opportunity to share experiences, approaches, and practices that may contribute to strengthening local economic development initiatives in Davao del Norte.

As part of the visit, the delegation was also welcomed by the City Agriculturist’s Office, where discussions focused on potential collaborative engagements, particularly in agriculture, investment, and other areas of mutual interest. The dialogue highlighted the importance of intergovernmental cooperation and knowledge-sharing in advancing local economic development.

The benchmarking activity underscores the value of collaboration among local government units in developing innovative approaches, strengthening institutional capacities, and creating more opportunities for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Still at The Atrium, Limketkai Mall, CDO, riding the momentum of this year's theme: "Accelerating Inclusive Growth for Business Through Innovation and Sustainability: Bridging the Gap, Scaling the Future."

August 11, 2026 | Café Ambiente, Iligan City

The Local Government of Iligan City, through the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Office, met with 2GO Shipping Lines and Globalport, with the City Administrator representing Mayor Frederick W. Siao, to discuss opportunities for stronger logistics, connectivity, and investment in Iligan.
Key discussions included the City’s one-day business permit processing, Green Lane System (GLS), and Task Force PRIME, which support a faster and more coordinated investment process.

The City also shared Iligan’s potential as a gateway to Northern Mindanao, particularly in agriculture and agro-processing, Halal tourism and industries, renewable energy, logistics, industrial development, culture and art.

2go expressed its interest for stronger maritime connectivity, including a possible Iligan–Manila and Cebu-Iligan route, were also explored.

2GO also expressed interest in supporting Iligan’s investment promotion and roadshow activities, while also emphasizing the importance of a stable and growing business environment.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the public and private sectors to strengthen connectivity, attract investments, promote local products, and create new economic opportunities for Iligan City.

IBM MTWG Meeting Recap: August 3, 2026

The IBM MTWG (Iliganon Business Month Management Technical Working Group) got together last August 3, 2026 for a productive session focused on shaping the road ahead for this year's Iliganon Business Month. The meeting brought together key planners and stakeholders to map out the game plan, key initiatives, and fresh ideas that will define IBM 2026.

While we can't reveal the specifics just yet (yes, that's our little spoiler alert), we can say this much: the ideas on the table are bigger, bolder, and more exciting than ever. Expect a month long celebration packed with surprises, meaningful engagements, and opportunities that will bring our business community closer together in ways you won't want to miss.

Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Development 🤝 (July 27-28, 2026)

The Local Government of Iligan successfully participated in the Orientation on Project TUBO and Dialogue with the Iligan City People's Council, in the presence of representatives from the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines.

The Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Office actively took part in the activity in its capacities as Vice Chairperson of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Unit, PBAC Secretariat, and member of the PPP Technical Working Group.

This meaningful engagement reinforces the City's commitment to transparent governance, stakeholder collaboration, and the development of impactful Public-Private Partnership initiatives that will foster inclusive and sustainable growth for Iligan City.
