The MSU-IIT Youth Chain of Peace (MYCoP) proudly secured two major awards at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) Youth Convergence held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, from November 20โ23, 2025.
In this yearโs UN SDG Awards, MYCoP was honored as the Most Outstanding Organization for Peace and its Peacepreneurship Program was awarded Most Outstanding Project for Peace. These distinctions recognize the groupโs ongoing work aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals). Adding to this achievement, MYCoPโs Global Youth Program (GYP) has also been officially reviewed and approved, marking another step forward in expanding its reach and impact.
The convergence & awarding ceremony was attended by Abdul Nasser Manarondong, MYCoPโs Vice President for External Affairs, who received the honors on behalf of the organization. His presence highlighted the groupโs active role in advocating for youth leadership and peacebuilding both locally and internationally.
The four-day convergence brought together thousands of young leaders from across the Philippines to collaborate, share ideas, and develop innovative projects aligned with the SDGs. The event emphasized youth engagement, collective action, and practical solutions for sustainable community development.
MYCoP also expressed its sincere gratitude to the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM), led by Dr. Mark Anthony J. Torres, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and IPDM Director, as well as to Ms. Juvy T. Cambaya, J.D., Peace Action Coordinatior of IPDM, for her steady guidance as MYCoP Adviser. The organization further thanked Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, J.D., DD.M. for supporting youth-led peace efforts and nurturing a campus environment where both compassion and excellence are valued.
With these achievements, MYCoP continues to inspire a new generation of peacebuilders, proving that when the youth are empowered, they can spark real and lasting change.
