𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗨𝗡 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The MSU-IIT Youth Chain of Peace (MYCoP) proudly secured two major awards at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) Youth Convergence held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, from November 20–23, 2025.

In this year’s UN SDG Awards, MYCoP was honored as the Most Outstanding Organization for Peace and its Peacepreneurship Program was awarded Most Outstanding Project for Peace. These distinctions recognize the group’s ongoing work aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals). Adding to this achievement, MYCoP’s Global Youth Program (GYP) has also been officially reviewed and approved, marking another step forward in expanding its reach and impact.

The convergence & awarding ceremony was attended by Abdul Nasser Manarondong, MYCoP’s Vice President for External Affairs, who received the honors on behalf of the organization. His presence highlighted the group’s active role in advocating for youth leadership and peacebuilding both locally and internationally.

The four-day convergence brought together thousands of young leaders from across the Philippines to collaborate, share ideas, and develop innovative projects aligned with the SDGs. The event emphasized youth engagement, collective action, and practical solutions for sustainable community development.

MYCoP also expressed its sincere gratitude to the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM), led by Dr. Mark Anthony J. Torres, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and IPDM Director, as well as to Ms. Juvy T. Cambaya, J.D., Peace Action Coordinatior of IPDM, for her steady guidance as MYCoP Adviser. The organization further thanked Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, J.D., DD.M. for supporting youth-led peace efforts and nurturing a campus environment where both compassion and excellence are valued.

With these achievements, MYCoP continues to inspire a new generation of peacebuilders, proving that when the youth are empowered, they can spark real and lasting change.

The RAISE 2 Project 1-A initiative on Peace + Entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the MSU-IIT Youth Chain of Peace (MYCoP), proudly leads Project Play + PeacePreneurship, a dynamic effort that blends peacebuilding with entrepreneurial innovation. Through this collaboration, young leaders are empowered to creatively harness play-based strategies and sustainable enterprise thinking to deepen understanding of peace, spark community engagement, and cultivate socially impactful ventures. Project Play + PeacePreneurship exemplifies how youth-driven peace action and entrepreneurial spirit can come together to build resilient, peaceful communities and open pathways for meaningful change.

The MSU-IIT Youth Chain of Peace (MYCoP) was honored as a Finalist in the Outstanding Youth Organization Project Category during the 3rd Pasigarbo sa Diyandi: Youth Leadership and Excellence Awards 2025, held on September 5, 2025, at D’orchard, Bara-as, Tubod, Iligan City.

Through its initiative, 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, MYCoP gained recognition in two categories: Economic Empowerment, which highlights youth-driven efforts in creating livelihood and sustainable opportunities, and Peacebuilding & Security, which recognizes initiatives that foster dialogue, harmony, and community resilience.

This recognition reflects MYCoP’s enduring commitment to empowering the youth, strengthening community ties, and advancing peace through meaningful action. The Pasigarbo Awards, celebrated during the Diyandi Festival, continue to highlight the transformative role of young leaders and organizations in shaping a brighter and more peaceful future.

The MSU-IIT Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) expresses its profound gratitude for being part of the Regional Agri-aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) 2 Program in Region X, an initiative that continues to strengthen the innovation ecosystem across Northern Mindanao.

As one of the four Component Member Institutions (CMIs) of the Region X RAISE 2 Consortium, MSU-IIT IPTBM is deeply honored to contribute to the program’s milestones, especially in the areas of advanced IP protection, technology valuation, patent analytics, and capacity-building for researchers and innovators.

During the November 26, 2025 RRDIC-X meeting, where the program was endorsed for inclusion as a NOMCAARRD Special Cluster and supported for Phase 2 implementation, the collective achievements of the consortium were highlighted. MSU-IIT’s contributions, particularly in regional IP training, valuation caravans, inventor coaching, and youth-led peace-and-innovation initiatives, were recognized as notable best practices for Northern Mindanao.

Being part of a consortium that champions innovation, collaboration, and community-centered impact is a privilege. This recognition strengthens our commitment to a more responsive, people-centered, and socially innovative IPTBM system that empowers local researchers, agripreneurs, students, and partner LGUs across the region.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to DOST-PCAARRD, RRDIC-X, NOMCAARRD, our fellow CMIs (MSU-Naawan, USTP-Claveria, and CMU), and all partners who continue to believe in the transformative potential of RAISE.

Participation in the RAISE 10 Terminal Review with DOST-PCAARRD TTPD held on November 17–18, 2025 at the OIPTBM Conference Room, Central Mindanao University (CMU).

During the review, the Peace + Entrepreneurship Program of MSU-IIT IPTBM was commended as a Regional RAISE Best Practice, recognized for its innovative and inclusive model of engaging students in IP awareness and technology transfer activities.

A special highlight was the acknowledgment that the program’s success is largely attributed to the MSU-IIT Youth Chain for Peace (MYCoP), who creatively gamified the training modules into PeacePreneurship, a dynamic, youth-led approach that made learning more participatory, accessible, and impactful for communities.

This achievement reflects the powerful synergy between the IPTBM and MYCoP in advancing peace-responsive innovation and student-centered capability building.

Ms. Juvy T. Cambaya, Project Leader of RAISE 2 Project 1A, together with the Student Project Members, Mr. Abdul Nasser P. Manarondong and Ms. Shakira Farhana T. Derico, participated in the RAISE Summit Week held at Hotel Casiana, Tagaytay City on October 13–16, 2025.

The gathering brought together all RAISE implementing institutions nationwide to share best practices, present accomplishments, and strengthen collaboration in advancing IP protection, technology transfer, and innovation-led development. A technology display from each ATBI also highlighted the activity, showcasing promising technologies and startup innovations across regions.
