LOOKII Inspiring the Youth, Building Future Leaders: 500CEB Promotes NSTP-ROTC at MMSU

Recognizing the youth as the future leaders and stewards of the nation, the 500th Combat Engineer Battalion provided resource persons for the ROTC-NSTP orientation at Mariano Marcos State University, Batac City, on September 5, 2026.

The engagement provided the students with a deeper appreciation of the ROTC Program and its role in developing the youth through discipline, leadership, teamwork, patriotism, and a strong sense of responsibility. The 500CEB personnel also shared their knowledge and experiences, emphasizing how the values gained through ROTC can help students become confident, responsible, and service-oriented individuals capable of contributing to their communities and the nation.

Beyond introducing the opportunities and responsibilities associated with ROTC, the activity served as a meaningful avenue for the 500CEB to engage with the youth and encourage them to embrace the ideals of service, leadership, and patriotism. Such engagements strengthen the partnership between the Philippine Army and the academic community in promoting youth development and cultivating future leaders.

As we celebrate National Reservist Month, we recognize the men and women who remain ready to serve the nation in different capacities as part of the AFP Reserve Force.

From reservists maintained for immediate mobilization, to those organized and maintained in reserve for national emergencies or war, and finally to citizen soldiers who have qualified for retirement but remain part of the Reserve Force, each classification serves a distinct role in strengthening the AFP’s capacity to respond when called upon.

Together, the Ready Reserve, Standby Reserve and the Retired Reserve classifications, form an organized reserve pool that provides the AFP with trained personnel and additional capability when circumstances require.

We will continue our maritime operations to protect our seas and remain committed to keeping our waters safe, secure, and peaceful for all Filipinos.
