Per Rainfall Advisory No. 13 issued by PAGASA Visayas PRSD at 5:00am today, August 19, 2026, Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring light to moderate to ocassionally heavy rains is expected over the Municipality of Dumangas which may experience within the next 1 to 2 hours.

In line with this, the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) to suspend classes in all levels in the Municipality of Dumangas today, August 19, 2026, is hereby approved to ensure the safety and well-being of students and the general public.

The Municipality of Dumangas, headed by Mayor BJ Biron, continues to support digital transformation and improved public service through participation in the SMARTGov Technical Working Group (TWG) Trainersโ€™ Training organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Western Visayas, held at Dumangas Haw-as Arena.

This aims to strengthen the technical knowledge and practical skills of designated personnel in using the SMARTGov platform, helping the LGU enhance efficiency, transparency, service delivery, and citizen engagement through digital technology.

What was once considered waste is now helping create a better tomorrow for Dumangasanons.

Through the Basura Baylo Bugas Program, collected plastic materials is turned into something useful, rice assistance for families and recycled chairs for elementary schools in Dumangas.

This initiative shows that small acts of responsible waste management can lead to meaningful changes in our community. From cleaner surroundings to added support for families and classrooms, every recycled material becomes part of something bigger. A sustainable Dumangas starts with all of us.

The Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board was convened to strengthen the Municipality's preparations for the implementation of the 2027 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) at Dumangas Haw-as Arena.

The meeting was further strengthened through the technical assistance provided by Ms. Analyn Solinap, Statistical Specialist II; and Ms. Cherry Lyn D. Cabrera, Administrative Aide VI of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

They presented the 2027 CBMS Resource Allocation Tool, which outlines the estimated budget requirements for the conduct of the 2027 CBMS and key implementation guidelines and highlighted capacity-building initiatives that will equip LGUs with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement the CBMS and maximize the use of its data for evidence-based planning, budgeting, policymaking, and local development.

The LGU Dumangas has acquired a new Mini Bus with a bid amount of โ‚ฑ5,995,000.00, funded through the 5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) โ€“ 2025 Budget/Capital Outlay.

The newly acquired vehicle will serve as an additional resource of the Municipality in supporting disaster risk reduction and management operations, emergency response, and other activities that ensure the welfare of the Dumangasanons!
