The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) VI through the implementation of the Forestland Management Project (FMP) conducted a Ground Breaking Ceremony of the construction of Quipot to Barasalon Phase II with Access Road Component held at AMMMABUS Buying station Barangay Quipot, Janiuay.
The project was awarded to Giantwest Construction Corporation with a total Project cost amounting 15,490,768.16 with a total length of 1.618m ( Access Road: 0.416m / Pathway : 1.202m)
The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Quipot to Barasalon Phase II with Access Road Component was led by DENR VI Assistant Regional Director for Special Concerns- ARD Ivene D. Reyes, Iloilo PENR Officer- For. Salvador C. Manglinong Jr. , 3rd District Congressman- Hon. Lorenz Defensor, Janiuay Municipal Mayor- Hon. Paulino Parian, Janiuay SB Members- Gracia Marie Dureza Loffe, Mayen Gulmatico, Jemar Alerta, Jaime Bermejo, Felizardo Amigable Jr. , CENR Officer- For. Glenn Del Norte, DENR-FMP Provincial Focal Person- For. Antonio M. Latoza Jr.. Also present during the event were employees of DENR FMP-Regional Project Management Office, Provincial Project Management Office, FMP Assisting Professionals for Infrastructure Works- Engr. Von Rommel Miraflor and Engr. Henri Mario Huele and Supervising Site Management Offices of Janiuay and Calinog headed by Site Management Officers Mr. Michael Lastica and For. Ramy Claudio together with the active participation of the People's Organizations Presidents and members of Asosasyon sang Magagmay nga Mangunguma sa Bukid sang Janiuay (AMMABUS Inc.) PO President Celso Arca, Panuran Tasik Upland Farmers Association (PATUFA Inc. ) PO President- Emmanuel Caspe , Asosasyon sang mga Mangunguma sang Barasalon kag Canauillian (AMBAC Inc.) PO President- Mariano Laste, Aglobong Upland Farmers Association (AGUFA Inc. ) PO President- Benjie Almirante with the partnership of the Barangay Captain of Quipot Janiuay- Jes Real Consumo, Barangay Captain of Canauillian Janiuay- Bernardo Maris, Barangay Captain of Barasalon Janiuay - Amaly Loceno.
These Access Roads and Pathways will help the upland communities on mobilizing their agricultural products to sustain their livelihood and as well is to alleviate poverty through education of the upland dwellers.
