The Municipality of San Joaquin officially launched the Paleng-QR Ph Plus Program, becoming the first LGU in the First District of Iloilo to adopt the initiative.

The program equips MSMEs, public market vendors, tricycle drivers, and transport operators with digital payment capabilities, promoting faster, safer, and more convenient cashless transactions.

Ms. Aulynn B. Yue Sin, EnP., Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (OLEDIPO) and Provincial Tourism Officer, delivered a message of support, reaffirming the Provincial Government of Iloilo's commitment to advancing financial inclusion, digital innovation, and a stronger local business ecosystem.

𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘

On July 29, 2026, the EMBRACE Program Technical Working Group together with the Office of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer (OLEDIPO) conducted monitoring and beneficiary engagement in Passi City.

The activity covered assessment of program implementation, validation of beneficiary records, and provision of guidance on responsibilities to ensure program accountability and sustainability.

Through dialogue with beneficiaries, issues were addressed and the objectives of the EMBRACE Program were reiterated. This process promotes transparency and supports the continued success of assisted businesses.

The Provincial Government acknowledges the cooperation of all beneficiaries. We also extend our sincere gratitude to LEDIPO Passi City for the assistance and support during the monitoring activity.

Continued support for the EMBRACE Program reflects the commitment to inclusive growth and stronger communities in Iloilo Province.

Business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, government representatives, and development partners gathered at The Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo on July 24, 2026, for What's Up Western Visayas 2026, a regional business conference that highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership in advancing local economic growth.

Centered on the theme, "Global Perspectives, Local Impact: Elevating Ilonggo Businesses Through Purpose-Driven Leadership," the conference featured industry experts who shared practical insights on leadership, artificial intelligence, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and business development.

Representing Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias emphasized that while global developments continue to shape local economies, the Province of Iloilo remains steadfast in pursuing its long-term vision under the MoRProGRes development agenda. He highlighted the Provincial Government's continued investments in human capital development, innovation, digital transformation, and performance-driven governance to ensure that Iloilo remains resilient, competitive, and prepared for the future.

Dr. Banias likewise underscored the Province's commitment to sustainable development through initiatives on the circular economy, water security, and forest conservation, while strengthening partnerships with the private sector to expand investment opportunities, support high-value industries such as coffee and cacao, and enhance tourism infrastructure across the province.

He concluded by reaffirming the Provincial Government's strong partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo Chapter (PCCI-Iloilo), stressing that its support for the business sector goes beyond words and is reflected in concrete programs, strategic investments, dedicated resources, and purpose-driven leadership.

The conference provided a valuable venue for exchanging ideas, fostering collaboration, and reinforcing the shared commitment of the public and private sectors to build a more innovative, competitive, and inclusive Western Visayas.

The Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Office of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer (OLEDIPO), successfully conducted the Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants Training on July 22-23, 2026 at the New Public Market, Oton, Iloilo.

We extend our gratitude to our resource person, Ms. Florenda C. Espedido, for sharing her expertise and guiding our participants.

We also thank the Local Government Unit of Oton for providing the venue and support for this training.

Participants learned key topics on:
✅ Financial Literacy - understanding money management
✅ Introduction to Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants - core accounting concepts made simple
✅ Record Keeping / Bookkeeping - practical ways to track income and expenses
✅ Financial Statements Preparation - how to prepare basic reports to monitor business performance

This training aims to equip our EMBRACE Program beneficiaries and business owners from Oton, Tigbauan, and Leon, with essential financial skills to better manage and grow their businesses.
