OPVet-Iloilo Distributes Veterinary Supplies, IEC Materials, and Neutering Kits to Livestock Technicians
August 24, 2026 — To strengthen local animal health programs and boost rabies eradication efforts, the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVet) distributed vital veterinary supplies, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, and neutering kits during its 3rd Quarter Meeting today.
The distribution included oral drench and injectable dewormers, soluble and injectable vitamins, and antibiotics. In addition, field technicians received neutering kits and IEC materials covering rabies prevention, the TaHuM campaign, and provincial animal movement requirements.
The quarterly meeting convened local government unit (LGU) livestock technicians to address critical biosecurity and animal health concerns across the province, including:
*Presser updates on African Swine Fever (ASF) and Avian Influenza
*Management of Transboundary Animal Diseases (TADs)
*Rabies Prevention and Control strategies
*Regulations on provincial animal movement and current field activities
Through this initiative, OPVet reinforces its commitment to empowering LGU partners, improving animal welfare, and safeguarding public health throughout Iloilo.
