The session was facilitated by Ms. Chennie Antonette Arcilla, ILCDB Provincial Focal of DICT Capiz, who introduced the participants to the fundamentals of software development and the importance of applying Design Thinking in creating innovative, user-centered digital solutions. The discussion highlighted how these approaches can help government agencies develop systems and services that are more responsive, efficient, and aligned with the needs of the public.

Representatives from the different regions of the Office of Civil Defense actively participated in the learning sessions and collaborated in group workshops. At the end of the training, each group presented their proposed solutions and activity outputs, demonstrating their understanding of the concepts and their ability to apply Design Thinking in addressing real-world government challenges.

Through initiatives like this, DICT Region VI remains committed to empowering the government workforce with digital knowledge and practical skills that support innovation, digital transformation, and improved public service delivery.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region VI, through the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB) and its Tech4ED – Digital Transformation Center (DTC), successfully conducted the 𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗜 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 on July 7–9, 2026.

The three-day training provided participants with essential digital skills through sessions on Cybersecurity Basics, Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence using Gemini and NotebookLM, Office Productivity Tools (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel), and Canva for Presentations.
Designed to enhance workplace productivity and digital capability, the training enabled participants to strengthen their cybersecurity awareness, understand the importance of secure digital authentication through PNPKI, leverage AI-powered tools for smarter and more efficient work, improve document and spreadsheet management, and create engaging presentations using Canva.

DICT Region VI extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of Agriculture - Western Visayas for its valuable collaboration and unwavering support in making this activity a success.

Day 6 of the Nationwide Training of Trainers for ILCDB Focals and DTC Managers featured a full day of learning, innovation, and collaboration.

The morning session focused on Data Analytics Essentials Training facilitated by Cisco Networking Academy. Participants explored the fundamentals of data analytics and gained practical knowledge on how to deliver introductory data analytics training to various sectors. The session also covered the use of Microsoft Excel as a powerful tool for data management, visualization, and analysis—from basic functions to more advanced applications.

In the afternoon, DEVCON Kids empowered participants with the knowledge and tools needed to conduct introductory Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for elementary and secondary school learners. Participants were introduced to open learning platforms such as CSforAll and Bool, which support AI education and digital skills development. The session culminated in a hands-on workshop where participants applied vibe coding using Bool to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges identified in their respective regions.

To complement the technical sessions, participants also took part in the ILCDB-DTC Team Building Activity, designed to strengthen camaraderie, communication, and collaboration among ILCDB Focal Persons and DTC Managers nationwide. Through engaging team challenges, participants reinforced the teamwork and coordination skills essential for the successful implementation of digital literacy and digital transformation initiatives.

The activity concluded with the recognition of the Visayas Cluster as the overall winner. 🎉
