The Office of the Building Official (OBO) organized a consultation and presentation of the developed 𝐒𝐀𝐌 𝐏𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥 (𝐢𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥) by the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐒𝐇𝐑𝐀) 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐂𝐒, highlighting its purpose, features, and functions.

The activity was attended by representatives from several offices of the Iloilo City Government, providing an opportunity to learn how the iTool integrates hazard maps and data into an interactive platform.

Through the iTool, users can visualize hazard information and generate data that can support risk assessment, planning, and the design of safer and more resilient structures. aw

A meaningful step toward strengthening science-based decision-making, risk-informed planning, and disaster resilience in Iloilo City.

A coordination meeting with the 𝐃𝐏𝐖𝐇 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐈 and 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 was held to discuss future projects supporting the 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐝—a significant infrastructure initiative envisioned to enhance connectivity, mobility, waterfront development, and economic opportunities in Iloilo City.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

The Office of the Building Official (OBO) informs the public that it is now accommodating inquiries and applications for Temporary Electrical Permits (IKONEK) intended for low-load electrical connections with a maximum capacity of 40 amperes (AMP) only.

The application may be availed of for structures or properties located on government-owned or privately owned lots, subject to compliance with the prescribed requirements and to the evaluation and approval of the Office of the Building Official.

For inquiries regarding the application process, documentary requirements, and other related concerns, the public is encouraged to visit or coordinate directly with the Office of the Building Official.

Please be informed that in accordance to NBCDO Memorandom Circular No. 2, Series of 2026, the submission of an approved DOLE Construction Safety and Health Program (CSHP) as a prerequisite for the processing and issuance of Building Permits is hereby revoked.

The Office of the Building Official (OBO) actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and readiness in safeguarding lives, families, and communities.

Following the drill, OBO personnel conducted a post-earthquake inspection exercise to enhance their capability in damage assessment, emergency response, and rescue operations during actual disaster events. Through these activities, the office continues to strengthen employee awareness, improve preparedness, and regularly evaluate and update its safety and emergency response protocols.
