๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ | The Municipality of Tubungan through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), successfully conducted the Risk Resiliency Program Cash-for-Training and Work under Project LAWA at BINHI. The activity was participated in by 200 identified partner-beneficiaries from various barangays and was held on May 18, 2026, at the Barangay Lanag Sur Gymnasium, Tubungan, Iloilo.
Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon, Municipal Mayor, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of sustaining community gardening initiatives and aquaculture as income-generating opportunities at the community level.
During the training proper, Ms. Jane Hervilla, PDO II and Focal Person from DSWD Field Office VI, discussed various topics related to the Risk Resiliency Program, DSWD Mandate, Programs and Services, Flagship Programs, including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation. She was assisted by Ms. Shawie May Nalupano, PDO I.
Meanwhile, Ms. Marjorie Tacardon, Municipal Agriculturist, discussed Organic Farming among the participants. Hon. Francisco โIkeโ Gallego, SB Chairperson on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Climate Change Adaptation, also shared valuable insights on Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT).
The activity aimed to strengthen community resilience, promote sustainable agriculture, and provide livelihood opportunities among beneficiaries through capacity-building initiatives.
