****ANNOUNCEMENT || TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF SCHEDULED OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC) PAYMENTS ****.

Due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon and the resulting suspension of government work on 23 July 2025 and the implementation of alternative work arrangements on 24 July 2025, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) informs all clients and stakeholders that the acceptance of Over-the-Counter (OTC) payments at the FDA Cashier, FDA Central Office, is hereby suspended until such time as face-to-face government work resumes.

"Pursuant to the recommendation of the DILG, and in view of the advisory issued by DOST-PAGASA, the Office of Civil Defense, and the DSWD regarding Tropical Storm Emong, we are adhering to the directive to suspend classes in all levels in Iloilo City tomorrow, Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Suspendido man ang trabaho sa mga government offices, maluwas sa mga essential personnel pareho sang mga responders kag emergency services nga kinahanglan magreport kung ginakinahanglan.

All response units under the Iloilo City Government are on standby and fully activated.

We have also raised the Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center to RED ALERT STATUS and continue to monitor updates to ensure the safety of our constituents.

Please remain alert, secure your homes, and coordinate with your barangay officials for any assistance needed.

This was caused by a major incident earlier this morning involving a fallen electric post and transformer, which affected the power supply to the entire FDA Main Building, including the Server Room and other FDA offices.

FDA IN TALKS WITH PROVINCE OF CAPIZ TO EMPOWER LOCAL MSMEs

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advancing efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Capiz. On February 13, 2025, FDA Deputy Director General Jesusa Joyce N. Cirunay, along with OIC Director II Rica Reina C. Aumentado and FDA Regional Supervisor Lemia A. Blances, met with Governor Fredenil H. Castro in Roxas City to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening local businesses.

The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss the forgoing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the launch of the Bigyan-Halaga, Bangon MSMEs (BBMSME) Program in Capiz. This initiative will provide Capiz MSMEs with essential support, including technical assistance, training, and guidance on complying with FDA regulations such as licenses, registrations, and food safety standards. The program is expected to enhance the province's businesses' competitiveness in both local and international markets.

Governor Castro expressed strong backing for the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to boost Capiz's local economy. As the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, the province's marine resources are crucial to its economic growth, and the governor sees the partnership with the FDA as a key step toward sustaining the seafood industry and empowering the broader MSME sector.

***FDA Advisory No.2025-0095 || INTERIM EXTENSION OF RENEWAL APPLICATION FILING PERIOD FOR LICENSE TO OPERATE (LTO)***

In the interest of efficient public service delivery and to address concerns encountered in the implementation of Administrative Order No. 2024-0015 or the “Prescribing the Rules, Requirements and Procedures in the Application for License to Operate of Covered Health Product Establishments with the Food and Drug Administration Repealing for the Purpose Administrative Order No. 2020-0017”, the FDA is hereby informing our stakeholders that starting 17 February 2025, the filing of renewal applications for License to Operate (LTO) will be accepted within one hundred eighty (180) days prior to the expiration of their LTO’s original validity, instead of ninety (90) days.
