EXTREME HEAT ADVISORY
Health Risks and Precautions
Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to severe health issues. The Department of Health (DOH) has issued guidelines to help the public stay safe during this extreme heat advisory:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, ideally seven to eight glasses a day. Avoid sugary drinks.
Monitor Symptoms: Be aware of signs of heat-related illnesses, such as dizziness, rapid heartbeat, confusion, and muscle cramps. If you experience these symptoms, seek medical assistance immediately.
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Limit outdoor activities, especially between 10 AM and 4 PM, when the sun's rays are strongest. If you must go outside, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and use umbrellas or hats for shade.
