Iloilo-based startup AcadArena recently secured $3.5 million (P176 million) in seed funding. Founders Ariane Lim, Kevin Hoang, and Justin Banusing among the youngest in the country to receive what is considered one of the largest seed rounds in Philippine gaming history.

The Iloilo-based startup has over 50 investors from prominent companies across the world.

The year 2020-21 had challenged Iloilo’s economic growth as shown by declining trade and investments and gaps in agricultural productivity and delayed logistics (i.e., ports development, post-harvest facilities). The need to encourage resilient investments in order address the dramatic increase in severe weather events, among other factors— will only be solved when Ilonggos work together.

ILEDF whose mandate is trade and investment promotion will serve as platform for policy, training and forum to support Iloilo’s build back better initiatives. ILEDF hopes to continue making the case for a sustainable trade and investment to strengthen Iloilo's recovery and become more resilient in the face of the current and future health and environmental crisis
