RECENTLY | CONDUCT OF MONITORING AND VALIDATION ON THE RICE DISTRIBUTION PROJECT IN MUNICIPALITY OF STA. BARBARA, ILOILO
The Municipality of Sta. Barbara, Iloilo successfully implemented its Assistance to Indigent Individuals and Families through the Rice Distribution Project (AIIF-RDP), becoming the first local government unit in Iloilo Province to implement the program under the FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund β Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) on May 28, 2026.
Under the leadership of Mayor Dennis S. Superficial, MD, and through the dedicated efforts of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Ms. Lany Somcio, in collaboration with other concerned local government offices, the activity was systematically organized and successfully provided assistance to 2,000 beneficiary households, including solo parents and drivers.
Present during the monitoring activity were Project Evaluation Officer (PEO) III Marie Angelie Villalon of the DILG Regional Office VI and Engr. Regil Gumayan, Chief of the DILG Iloilo Province Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU). They were joined by Engr. Christian John Gedor, DILG Iloilo Province Rice Distribution Project (RDP) Focal Person.
The AIIFβFood Assistance Project aims to provide timely, adequate, and targeted food support to indigent individuals and families, particularly during periods of economic hardship, disasters, public health emergencies, and other situations that may affect household food security.
To ensure compliance with the program's implementing guidelines and regulations, representatives from the DILG, DBM, DA, and other concerned national government agencies converged to provide technical assistance and guidance to beneficiary LGUs.
