Anti-drug operations conducted by the PNP and PDEA resulted in the arrest of two high-value drug personalities, including a barangay elected official, and the confiscation of more than β±470,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Antique and Guimaras on May 13 and 16, 2026.
In Antique, operatives of the ANTPPO Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) together with the Culasi Municipal Police Station and PDEA RO6 Antique Provincial Office, conducted a buy-bust operation at around 8:47 PM on May 13, 2026, in Brgy. Esperanza, Culasi, Antique.
The operation resulted in the arrest of alias βEnteng,β 31 years old.
Recovered during the operation were approximately 54 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of β±405,000, buy-bust money amounting to β±7,500, and a cigarette pack.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Brgy. Bacjao, Buenavista, Guimaras at around 5:27 PM on May 16, 2026, the PNP-GPPO PDEU together with PDEA Guimaras Provincial Office, the Buenavista Police Station, and the Provincial Mobile Force Company, arrested alias βJojo,β a 50-year-old barangay kagawad.
Seized from the suspect were six heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of β±68,000, along with a marked β±500 bill, four pieces of aluminum foil, one coin purse, and one disposable lighter.
The arrested suspects will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, while the Guimaras suspect will additionally face charges under Section 12 of the same law.
Authorities emphasized that violations involving the sale and possession of illegal drugs carry severe penalties up to life imprisonment and fines ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of pesos. Officials further warned that public servants and individuals engaged in the illegal drug trade will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law as part of the governmentβs intensified anti-illegal drug campaign.
