Greg Gasataya ambition of becoming the City Mayor of Bacolod , while Congressman Stephen Paduano, an expert tactician and attack dog of Mayor Albee Benitez, endorsed Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran for the same position. This strategic maneuver is meticulously designed to advance Mayor Albee Benitez's interests.

The only problem is that the grand plan could collapse and backfire. The people of Bacolod feel deceived by a promise of change that was never fulfilled. It appears that Mayor Albee Benitez may have been too focused on expanding his alliances and believe Mayor Albee Benitez exploited bacolod city to further his own political ambitions.

Mayor Albee Benitez left with no option but to nullify the results of the recent voting process at the Asenso convention due to controversies surrounding rigging that favored specific candidates.

In a statement he issued through his spokesman, "Atty. Caesar Distrito, Benitez noted that many of the barangay captains did not abide by his orders to exercise neutrality in choosing the two slots for city councilors. "

"Benitez said he will now personally choose two candidates, which notably, would not come from any of the six nominees."

This development not only shows the blatant corruption that took place at the Asenso Convention, but it also continues to expose the lack of transparency in the Asenso Bacolod Leadership regarding what truly happened. It demonstrates a significant lack of respect for the Bacolod people. No amount of excuses can hide the truth, which reveals a disregard and lack of respect for the Citizens of Bacolod.

We urge our leaders to lead us with truth and honesty, rather than leading us down a crooked path filled with excuses and dishonesty.

This year, several of my friends visited Iloilo City for the first time. When I asked them about their experience, they said the city is beautiful and astonished that the roads are clean. Regarding traffic, they felt it was worse in Davao and Bacolod compared to Iloilo City. They did mention that the comfort rooms need improvement.

To create meaningful impact, it is crucial to prioritize immediate community concerns such as education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and effective flood mitigation strategies. The urgent issue of frequent flooding must be remembered as it poses significant threats to communities, infrastructure, and the environment, causing damage to homes, businesses, and public services. This problem could have been easily resolved if the needs of the Ilonggos had been prioritized over political interests. It is crucial to focus on the well-being and priorities of the Ilonggo community, rather than allowing political agendas to take precedence.
