DEPLOYMENT : Blood Bank Section
ELIGIBILITY : RA 1080 (Medical Technologist)
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Public Health
TRAINING : None Required
WORK EXPERIENCE : None Required
COMPETENCY:
* Knowledge in performing phlebotomy, serological examinations, compatibility testing, blood-typing, cross-matching, and investigating discrepancies in blood-typing and cross-matching
Knowledge in checking and monitoring daily maintenance of equipment
Knowledge in quality control measures to check blood quality and stability for transfusion
* Knowledge in different kinds of inventories:
a. Blood safety indication required by PNRC
b. Monthly inventory of reagents
c. Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee (HBTC) & National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP) required by the Department of Health (DOH)
Exposure/Volunteer in a blood bank is an advantage Has good organizational and time management skills
Demonstrates good communication skills
* Has the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Has the ability to work rapidly and accurately with strong attention to details
Has the ability to work in team-oriented environment
Must be computer-literate (MS word/Excel/Power Point)
Must be flexible and has the ability to work with various schedules
Must be able to think well under pressure
* Willing to undergo training relevant to work assignments when necessary
