The Local Government Unit of Banate proudly celebrates another milestone in public health as it receives prestigious recognitions during the 2026 HEAL (Health Excellence and Leadership) Awards Ceremony held on July 30, 2026 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.

🥈 Second Place – Top Performing Local Government Unit in the Safe Water and Basic Sanitation Program Implementation in the Province of Iloilo.

🥉 Third Place – Top Performing Local Government Unit in the Implementation of the Rabies Prevention and Control Program for CY 2025.

📚 Empowering Banatenhons Through Education and Skills Development! 💙

The District of Banate successfully conducted the Orientation on the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and TESDA Programs under the Project STEP Year 2 Implementation, providing learners with valuable information on educational opportunities, technical-vocational training, and pathways toward employment and lifelong learning.

This initiative highlights the commitment of our education partners and stakeholders in ensuring that every Banatenhon has access to quality education and skills development, regardless of age or circumstance.

🌴🌱 ROOTED IN ACTION, GROWING FOR THE FUTURE! 🌱🌴

In celebration of Arbor Day, the Local Government Unit of Banate successfully conducted an Arbor Day Tree Planting Activity on July 30, 2026, at the Brgy. Bularan Esplanade to Banate Fishing Port, Esplanade Phase 2 & Phase 3.

A total of 150 dwarf coconut seedlings were planted as part of the municipality's continuing commitment to environmental conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable greening initiatives.

Spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), the activity was actively participated in by LGU Banate employees headed by Mayor Peter Paul T. Gonzales, together with Vice Mayor Filemon Iran, Jr., the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and representatives from various government agencies.

This collective effort reflects our shared responsibility in protecting and preserving our environment for future generations. Every tree planted today is a lasting investment in a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Banate.

Together, let us continue to nurture nature—because a greener Banate begins with all of us. 🌿💚

📍 A Historic Milestone for the Municipality of Banate! 🎉

The Municipality of Banate proudly celebrates another significant achievement as the 2nd and Final Review of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2024–2033 and Zoning Ordinance has been APPROVED and ENDORSED by the Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC) for adoption by the Sangguniang Bayan, and subsequently for endorsement to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

This milestone was made possible through the collective efforts of the CLUP Technical Working Group (TWG) Core Team, together with Mayor Peter Paul T. Gonzales, Vice Mayor Filemon Iran, Jr., the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and the Municipal Department Heads.

During the review, the Core Team successfully presented and addressed all the comments and recommendations raised during the 1st PLUC Review held in October 2025, demonstrating Banate's commitment to comprehensive, sustainable, and well-planned development.

🏆 A remarkable achievement indeed! Among all the municipalities in the Province of Iloilo, Banate proudly stands as the fastest municipality to complete its Comprehensive Land Use Plan—accomplishing the entire process in just 1 year and 6 months. This reflects the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our local officials, technical working group, partner agencies, and stakeholders who worked tirelessly throughout the planning process.

✅ What's Next?
Following the PLUC endorsement, the proposed CLUP and Zoning Ordinance will proceed to the Sangguniang Bayan for adoption through an ordinance. Once adopted, it will then be forwarded to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for review and approval before its official implementation as the Municipality's guiding framework for land use, zoning regulations, and sustainable development through 2033
