Iloilo City Agriculturist Office under City Agriculturist Sir Inigo Garingalao -Crop Section, Cluster 2 Farmers Field School beneficiaries successfully conducted their 1st Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) for the Wet Cropping Season under the MASAGANA Rice Program.

Farmers and technical teams gathered to closely monitor field conditions โ€” evaluating crop growth, pest & disease incidence, beneficial organisms, soil & water quality, and weather trends. This participatory, science-driven approach empowers farmers to make informed decisions, adopt eco-friendly practices, and optimize crop management toward better harvests and sustained food security for Iloilo City.

A collaborative technology benchmarking activity was conducted at CPU-GAD in support of the Aqua-Silvi Culture Project, with the participation of DOST, TSKI, and the Office of the City Agriculturist.

The activity focused on exploring innovative and sustainable technologies for mud crab culture and integrated aquaculture systems, strengthening partnerships toward future community livelihood opportunities.

Aqua-Silvi Culture Site Visit ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿฆ€๐ŸŒŠ

Yesterday, August 26, 2026, a productive site visit for the Aqua-Silvi Culture initiative was conducted through the collaborative efforts of SEAFDEC Dumangas, DOST, TSKI, Office of the City Agriculturist, Bito-on Mangrove Grower's and Fishers Association (BIGFISH).

The visit focused on exploring the potential integration of aquaculture and mangrove-based production systems as an innovative and sustainable approach to livelihood development, particularly for our coastal and fisherfolk communities.

Through strengthened partnerships, technology sharing, and on-site assessment, we continue to explore practical solutions that can promote sustainable aquaculture, environmental protection, and resilient livelihoods.

A successful Urban Goat Management and Hands-on Feed Preservation Training was conducted by the Office of the City Agriculturist โ€“ Livestock Section at the Iloilo City Agri-Nursery.

The training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in proper goat management, feeding, and feed preservation techniquesโ€”helping promote healthier livestock, better productivity, and sustainable urban livestock production.

Training on Urban Goat Management & Forage Feed Preservation

The Livestock Section of the Office of the City Agriculturist โ€“ Iloilo City will conduct the Training on Urban Goat Management & Forage Feed Preservation on August 26, 2026 (Wednesday), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Iloilo City Agri-Nursery, Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The activity focuses on strengthening knowledge and practical skills in urban goat management and forage feed preservation, particularly in proper feeding, utilization of available forage resources, and sustainable livestock production suited for urban settings.

This initiative of the Livestock Section supports the Cityโ€™s continuing efforts to promote practical, sustainable, and climate-responsive livestock production among communities.
