| The meaning behind PFDA logo 🇵🇭 🎣

As the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) celebrates its 50th Anniversary, let’s take a closer look at the story behind the familiar symbol that has represented the Authority for five decades.

The PFDA logo depicts one of the most basic and traditional ways of fish marketing in the Philippines: a fishtub, or “bañera”, viewed from above, filled with fresh fish from our seas and inland waters.

Three fishes interlock each other forming lines that convey and dynamism, the qualities inherent in the marketing process.

The logo’s silver color also carries meaning. It represents the natural color commonly associated with fish found in Philippine waters, while also symbolizing the strength and viability of all the fish ports managed by the PFDA.

Fifty years later, the logo remains more than just a symbol—it represents an enduring commitment to keep Philippine fisheries moving.

From the humble bañera to modern fish port facilities, PFDA continues to connect the bounty of our waters with the Filipino people.
