π΄ BUILDING A MORE INCLUSIVE, RESPONSIBLE, AND EXCELLENT TOURISM INDUSTRY IN CARLES! π
The Municipality of Carles successfully conducted its 3-Day Tourism Orientation and Familiarization, Human Trafficking Awareness or Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Barrier-Free Tourism Seminar for tourism enterprises and stakeholders last August 19-21, 2026 at New Beach Head Resort, Brgy. Barosbos, Carles, Iloilo.
The three-day learning experience brought together tourism workers, tourism enterprises, local stakeholders, and partner agencies who shared one common goal β to continuously improve the quality of tourism services and create a safer, more inclusive, and more welcoming destination for everyone.
π Key areas covered during the seminar included:
β¨ Tourism Orientation and Familiarization β deepening our understanding and appreciation of Carlesβ tourism resources, destinations, culture, heritage, and tourism industry
π€ Human Trafficking Awareness β strengthening awareness and responsibility in preventing and addressing human trafficking within the tourism sector
βΏ Barrier-Free Tourism β promoting accessible and inclusive tourism experiences for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and travelers with different needs
π Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) β strengthening the culture of excellent, heartfelt, and world-class Filipino hospitality
Beyond the presentations and discussions, the seminar became an opportunity for participants to share experiences, ask questions, exchange ideas, and reflect on how each of us can contribute to making Carles a better tourism destination.
π Tourism is not only about beautiful destinations. It is about people, experiences, safety, dignity, accessibility, and genuine hospitality.
