July 16, 2026 | LGU PICONG PARTICIPATES IN THE GAWAD KALINGA (GK 2050) – DEPED LANAO DEL SUR II MOU SIGNING AND PARTNERSHIP ORIENTATION

The Local Government Unit of Picong proudly participated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between Gawad Kalinga (GK 2050) and the MBHTE Division of Lanao del Sur II, held on July 16, 2026, at Rambayong Hall, Malabang.
With the theme, "Be a Hero: Ang Biyaheng ng Bawat Pilipino," the activity highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, local government units, and stakeholders in promoting quality education, community development, and nation-building.

LGU Picong remains committed to strengthening partnerships that create meaningful opportunities and improve the lives of every learner and the community.

1st Tranche School Monitoring | July 6 & 8, 2026

The Local Government Unit of Picong actively participated in the 1st Tranche School Monitoring conducted in the schools of Picong, Lanao del Sur on July 6 and 8, 2026. This activity aimed to assess the current status of our schools and strengthen collaboration in ensuring quality education for every learner.

The monitoring team was composed of: • Supervisor Hajja Basma Analia Sarip • Supervisor Iyasmen Dandamun • Career Guidance Coordinator Abdurrahman Benito Amerol • Coordinating Principal Arasali B. Paramata Laling MBP • ALS District Coordinator Hadja Nobaisa M. Macalipa • ISAL Focal Ustadja Norhaya Pagayawan • Biosong Principal Junalia Kapampangan Balindon
During the monitoring, the team validated the actual number of students and teachers, inspected school facilities, and observed learners' reading comprehension, among other key indicators. The activity provided valuable information to help improve school programs, learning environments, and the overall delivery of quality education.

The LGU-Picong expresses its gratitude to the dedicated monitoring team, school heads, teachers, and all stakeholders for their commitment and cooperation in making this activity successful. Together, we continue to work towards a better and brighter future for every child in Picong.

June 30, 2026 | LGU PICONG JOINS SIMULTANEOUS TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY IN CELEBRATION OF THE 67TH ARAW NG LANAO DEL SUR

In solidarity with the entire Province of Lanao del Sur, the Local Government Unit of Picong proudly participated in the Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity in celebration of the 67th Araw ng Lanao del Sur.

Joined by municipalities across the province, this meaningful initiative reflects our shared commitment to environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable development. More than simply planting trees, it symbolizes our collective responsibility to preserve, protect, and restore our natural environment for the benefit of both present and future generations.

The activity was participated in by LGU Picong employees, led by MENRO Faiz A. Pamaloy, together with MAFAR Municipal Officer Nasrodin A. Saripada, whose leadership and dedication contributed to the successful implementation of the activity.

The Local Government Unit of Picong also extends its heartfelt gratitude to Former Barangay Chairman Alibasher A. Alilang of Barangay Pindolonan for his warm welcome, generous hospitality, and invaluable assistance throughout the activity.

The LGU of Picong likewise expresses its sincere appreciation to Municipal Mayor Hon. Mesron D. Balindong for his unwavering support and steadfast commitment to environmental conservation initiatives, making programs like this possible and reinforcing the municipality's vision for a greener and more sustainable future.

PRIDE, UNITY, AND PROGRESS: LGU PICONG COMMEMORATES THE 128TH PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY

Today, June 12, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Picong, under the visionary leadership of Mayor Mesron D. Balindong, joined the entire nation in celebrating the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence with a vibrant and meaningful morning program.

The significant event brought together municipal leaders, security forces, and various line agencies, showcasing a united front for the peace and progress of Picong. Attendees included the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Army / Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) District Principals, Rural Health Unit (RHU), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), and the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD).

Highlights of the Day:6:00 AM Caravan:

A lively caravan from the Townhall to the RHU kicked off the morning activities.

Formal Commemoration: The program featured a disciplined Entrance of Colors, the Flag Raising Ceremony, and the singing of the Bangsamoro Hymn.

Inspirational Messages: Ustadh Haron Macatoon opened with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome from Mayor Mesron D. Balindong and a powerful inspirational speech by PCPT Christian Dean A. Ortiz.

Cultural & Community Intermissions: Showcase of talents by students of AL-HAMLAN National High School and LGU Picong employees.

Recognition & Closing: The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to participating line agencies and closing remarks from Principal Aida T. Acub.
