The Chief of Police Forum with Punong Barangays was recently held on October 15, 2026 at the Poblacion Barangay Hall, Inopacan, Leyte.

The forum aimed to strengthen the partnership between the PNP and barangay officials in maintaining peace and order in the municipality..

Key discussions included the launching of the S.A.F.E 911 Program and barangay support to PNP operations. The Punong Barangays also raised concerns on illegal drugs and the need for additional police visibility in far-flung areas.

Both the PNP and barangay officials reaffirmed their commitment to a safer and more secured community through active cooperation and information sharing.

The activity concluded with the signing of the Pledge of Committment.

The recently conducted Seminar on the Strengthening of Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs) โ€“ Episode 7: Anti-Sexual Harassment Desk (ASH Desk) was attended via Zoom on October 14, 2026.

The activity aimed to capacitate barangay officials and BBI members on the establishment, functions, and proper procedures of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Desk in accordance with Republic Act 11313 or the โ€œBawal Bastos Lawโ€ and other related laws.

The discussion also highlighted common challenges in the implementation of ASH Desks of barangays. An open forum was conducted where participants raised concerns on case referral, lack of IEC materials, and the need for continuous training of ASH Desk Officers.

The seminar concluded with the reiteration of the importance of a responsive and gender-sensitive barangay justice system. Participants were encouraged to institutionalize the ASH Desk, ensure proper record-keeping, and conduct community awareness campaigns to prevent sexual harassment in all forms.

The Monthly LIGA Meeting of the Liga ng mga Barangay - Inopacan Chapter was recently conducted at the Barangay Hall of Poblacion, Inopacan, Leyte on October 8, 2026.

The meeting started with a call to order by the LIGA President, followed by an invocation and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The body approved the minutes of the previous meeting and proceeded to tackle the agenda.

Key topics discussed included updates on barangay programs and projects, peace and order situation, and upcoming LGU and provincial activities. The MLGOO also provided guidance on DILG memoranda, compliance to barangay documentation, and implementation of national and local government directives.

The meeting served as a venue for barangay officials to raise concerns, share best practices, and strengthen coordination with the municipal government for more effective delivery of basic services.

The Local Project Monitoring Committee of LGU Inopacan, Leyte conducted its Meeting and Project Site Inspection on September 29, 2026.

The activity began with a brief meeting at the LGU Conference Room to review the status, implementation, and physical accomplishments of projects funded under the 20% Development Fund. The committee discussed project targets, issues encountered on the ground, and compliance with engineering and procurement standards.

Following the meeting, the LPMC proceeded to conduct on-site inspection of the identified 20% DF projects. The team validated project location, physical accomplishment, quality of materials, and adherence to approved plans and specifications.

The inspection reaffirmed the commitment of LGU Inopacan to ensure that 20% Development Fund projects are implemented effectively and responsive to the needs of the community.

The CSO Desk Officer, CSO and LPC Representatives from the Local Government Unit of Inopacan, Leyte recently participated in the CSO and LPC Forum this September 25, 2026 at the Leyte Capitol Building, Palo, Leyte.

The forum aimed to strengthen the engagement of Civil Society Organizations and Local Peopleโ€™s Council in governance, planning, and monitoring of programs. It provided a platform for CSOs and LPC members to share best practices, raise concerns, and align priorities with the provincial and national development agenda.

The activity emphasized that active and organized CSO participation is vital in achieving transparent, accountable, and poverty-responsive governance in the province.
