CELEBRATING THE CULMINATION OF WOMEN’S MONTH 2025!

Last March 31, 2025, we proudly concluded Women’s Month with a heartfelt tribute to the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in all sectors, embracing the theme: “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

A special highlight of the event was the recognition of Mayor Inday Amy Olegario, the first female mayor of Ipil and the highest vote-getter in history, for her unwavering leadership and dedication to progress. We were also honored by the presence of Chanti Olegario, former LIGA President of Ipil, and BM Yvonne V. Palma, both exemplary models of women’s leadership and empowerment.

To make the celebration even more meaningful, LGU women employees enjoyed a well-deserved "Pampering Day"—a time for relaxation with massages, manicures, pedicures, and foot spas. A special tribute, serenade, and flower-giving ceremony added a heartfelt touch, making every woman feel appreciated.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful celebration! Let’s continue to uplift and empower women, because when women rise, the whole community thrives.

Congratulations to LGU - Ipil for being recognized as a Gender-Sensitive Local Government Unit during the recent on-site GeRL (Gender-Responsive LGU) Assessment Tool Validation conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). This milestone reflects our collective commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusivity within our community.

We are optimistic about our continuous progress and look forward to the opportunity of being selected for the upcoming GAD Learning Hub, which would further enhance our initiatives and knowledge in gender and development.

Our success is greatly attributed to the dedication and proactive involvement of our Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) committee, whose unwavering support is one of our greatest strengths. We are grateful for the active participation and leadership of our GFPS members, as well as the support of our department heads and key partners, who have all played an essential role in strengthening our GAD programs.

The validation process was meticulously carried out by a team of GeRL Onsite Validators from PCW, including A1C Gregory Louis Cadeatan Magbanua, PAFR, CFMP, a Gender and Development Specialist II from PCW-North Mindanao, alongside Alyckssa Maye Castaños, Francess Gin Labarda Cornelio, and Jennah Faye Biong De Leon, all specialists from PCW's Technical Services and Regional Coordination Division. We deeply appreciate their expertise, insights, and guidance throughout this validation.

The Validation was formally opened by Mayor Anamel C. Olegario, whose steadfast support for GAD initiatives, along with the department heads underscores our LGU’s commitment to a more equitable and gender-responsive Ipil. Thank you, everyone, for your invaluable contributions. Let us continue working together for a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Successful GAD Seminar Conducted!
We are filled with deep joy at the successful completion of the Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar on concepts and mandates for our SB members, held on September 2024, in the Municipality of Ipil. We extend our gratitude to the majority of SB members for their participation, and, of course, to Hon. Vice Mayor Ramses Troy D. Olegario, whose presence and involvement contributed to the success of the seminar.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Ms. Rosalyn R. Echem, our resource speaker, for her expertise and for making the sessions both engaging and informative. We also thank the GFPS members, TWG, and secretariat for their efforts in facilitating and ensuring the smooth implementation of the seminar.
A special thank you to our Municipal Mayor, Inday Amy Olegario, for her continuous support in making this initiative possible. Together, we are making significant strides toward gender mainstreaming and building a more inclusive community!

The LGU-Ipil attended the Gender Responsive LGU (GeRL) Assessment Tool workshop for select Local Government Units, conducted by the Philippine Commission on Women North Mindanao Field Office in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government Region IX, on May 22-23, 2024, at the Astoria Regency Hotel in Zamboanga City. The GeRL is a self-assessment tool designed to help LGUs become gender-responsive by assisting them in identifying and providing appropriate interventions for men and women, assessing the gender responsiveness of their governance practices, and determining the status of GAD mainstreaming activities, which will aid in developing effective GAD plans in our localities. Lourelyn Y Gallemit, Lynne Lyg Municipal Budget Officer as well as the GFPS focal person, presented the assessment of LGU-Ipil's gender responsiveness concerning its institutional capacities. She was accompanied by Mr. Harby Hope Tagong, MLGOO, and TWG Chair, Joni B. Yap.
