Rene and Maribeth Doraydo, the couple that masters rug and pot making from coco coir of Bulawan Coconut Fatmers Cooperative in Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

Couple Goals | In Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, this husband-and-wife pair works side by side to turn coco coir twine into rugs, pots, and other handmade crafts.

Made from biodegradable and organic coconut fiber, coco coir products bring an earth-friendly touch to homes while creating livelihood opportunities for rural families.

Through the Integrated Coco Coir Processing and Marketing Enterprise, the Bulawan Coconut Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (BUCOFAC), a cluster member and recipient of the DA-PRDP enterprise subproject, is helping transform coconut husks once considered waste into value-added products with market potential.

Mother Miggy and son Cliford Pontanar tandems as geo-net weavers of Talusan Coconut Producers Cooperative formerly Baganipay Coconut Farmers Organization, recipient of Php10M Integrated Coxo Coir Processing and Marketing Enterprise of DA-PRDP.

A Coco Coir Family Affair | In Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay, coco coir production is not just an enterprise but a family affair.

For this mother and son, preparing natural fibers is part of the hands-on work behind the ₱10.38-million Integrated Coco Coir Processing and Marketing Enterprise supported by DA-PRDP. Working side by side, they stretch and arrange coir twine that will be woven into geo nets. These geo nets are used for slope protection, soil stabilization, and erosion control. Before they become finished products, they pass through family hands—sorted, prepared, twisted, and woven into materials with practical value.

Si Jennefel Darug, usa sa pinaka-unang nagtanom og abaka sa Barangay Peñaranda, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, master hag-otero ug baling press operator sa Zamboanga Sibugay Abaca Farmers Agriculture Cooperative kanhi Peñaranda Abaca Planters Association.

Strong Strands, Strong Livelihoods | In Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, an abaca farmer carefully pulls apart the stalks into long strips before they are fed into a decorticating machine. It is a simple but important step that prepares the plant for fiber extraction, turning rough stalks into strong abaca fibers used for many everyday and industrial products.

For farming communities in Zamboanga Sibugay, abaca is an important source of livelihood. As one of the province’s emerging commodities, it continues to support farmers, especially in abaca-growing areas like Kabasalan. In Peñaranda, the Zamboanga Sibugay Abaca Farmers Cooperative, formerly the Peñaranda Abaca Planters Association (PAPA), received a ₱14.2-million DA-PRDP enterprise development subproject to help improve abaca production and support farmers’ income. | Ang pagsemento sa 3.455 kilometros nga karsada sa Godod, partikular nahimutang sa barangay Sianan padulong sa Lomogom, kompleto na 100 porsento.

Nagkantidad og Php80 milyones, ang Upgrading/Concreting of Sianan-Lomogom FMR, ang labing una nga nahuman sa siyam (9) ka FMR subprojects nga gipondohan sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up dinhi sa Region 9.

Ang MLGU Godod usa ka 4th class municipality sakop sa probinsya sa Zamboanga del Norte. Sa pakigtimbayayong sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up ug MLGU Godod, nasolbad ang kalisud sa mga mag-uuma pagpagawas sa ilang produkto ngadto sa merkado. Pinaagi sa maayong karsada, magbukas kini sa daghang kahigayonan sa mga katawhan nga motaas ang kita.

Sa kinatibuk-an, mokabat na sa Php2 bilyones ang kasamtangang giimplementar nga infrastructure development subprojects ubos sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up dinhi sa Zamboanga Peninsula Region. (rsa/daprdpzampen)

: Base sa Commodity Map, ang 14.5 kilometros nga Rehabilitation/Concreting of Logan-Bacalan-Domandan-Supit-Culasian-Malagandis-New Canaan Farm-to-Market Road magbukas sa mas paspas ug mas sayon nga pagbiyahe sa mga mag-uuma sa goma gikan sa duha ka lungsod sa Zamboanga Sibugay – Ipil ug Titay.

Gawas sa goma nga maoy nag-unang commodity sa lugar nga mokabat sa 1,400 ka ektarya, mosuporta usab kini sa produksyon sa lubi, saging, mais, mangga ug humay.

Dugay na kining pangandoy sa mga residente sa Ipil ug Titay ug aprobado na pondo sa maong I-BUILD subproject ubos sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up pinaagi sa No Objection Letter No. 1 nga personal nga gitunol ni DA Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel ngadto kang Governor Dulce Ann K. Hofer didto sa kaulohan niadtong Mayo 18.

Nagkantidad og Php 341 milyon, ang proyekto gilauman nga makahatag benepisyo sa 1,792 ka kabalayan pinaagi sa mas hapsay nga pagdala sa mga produkto gikan sa kaumahan paingon sa merkado.

Ikaduha na kini nga farm-to-market road subproject nga nadawat sa PLGU Zamboanga Sibugay gikan sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up. Ang una mao ang 10-kilometrong Rehabilitation/Concreting of Cayamcam-Batungan FMR sa lungsod sa Tungawan nagkantidad usab og Php 258-M. Goma usab ang nag-unang panginabuhian sa mga lumulupyo dinhi.

Dili ikatingala nga ang Zamboanga Sibugay padayon nga nailhan isip “Rubber Capital” sa Pilipinas tungod sa kapin 80,000 ka ektarya nga gomahan nga naghatag panginabuhian sa liboan ka pamilya sa probinsya.

| ‘𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐩’ dili lang kini ordinaryong mapa. Naghulagway kini sa pangandoy sa mga mag-uuma sa kabukiran sa Lapuyan ug San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur nga dugay nang naglaom og mas maayong dalan alang sa ilang mga produkto ug panginabuhian.

Ang 18.744 kilometros nga karsada nga magkutay sa nagkalain-laing barangay sa duha ka munisipyo gilauman nga mahimong dalan padulong sa mas paspas nga transportasyon sa mga produkto gikan sa uma ngadto sa merkado.

Niadtong Lunes, Mayo 18, usa ka dakong lakang padulong sa katumanan niini ang nahitabo human personal nga gitunol ni DA Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel ngadto kang Governor Divina Grace C. Yu ang No Objection Letter 1 (NOL1) — timaan nga aprobado na ug mapondohan sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up ang Concreting of Karpok-Tiguha-San Jose-Dumara-Talabob-Maralag-San Isidro-Fatima-Laperian-NRJ-Dao-an Road nga nagkantidad og Php487.4 million.

Sa maong mga lugar, lubi ang nag-unang panginabuhian diin hapit 2,000 ektarya ang natamnan. Mosunod niini ang produksyon sa mais, humay ug saging nga maoy nagasuporta sa adlaw-adlaw nga panginabuhi sa mga pamilya sa komunidad.

Pinaagi sa proyekto, dili lamang mga produkto ang mapadali og biyahe, lakip usab ang serbisyo, oportunidad ug paglaom sa mga katawhan. Mokabat sa 5,372 ka panimalay ang direktang makabenepisyo sa maong karsada nga mahimong bag-ong koneksyon sa kalamboan alang sa mga kabarangayan sa Lapuyan ug San Miguel.

| Gihimo ang Joint Technical Review (JTR) alang sa Updated Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) sa PLGU Zamboanga del Norte para sa tuig 2026-2028 pinaagi sa Zoom niadtong Mayo 18.

Gipresenta sa Provincial Project Management and Implementation Unit sa Zamboanga del Norte pinaagi sa ilang I-PLAN head nga si Augee L. Velasco ang PCIP diin 20 ka nagkalain-laing agri-fishery commodities ang nakalista. Gikan sa staple crops sama sa humay ug mais; high value commodities sama sa lubi, abaka, kakaw, mangga, saging cardava, cassava, calamansi, utanon, luy-a ug goma; livestock sama sa baka, kanding, baboy ug manok; ug fishery products sama sa bangus, tilapia, sardinas ug seaweeds.
Kini nga mga commodities mao ang gipaluyohan ug boot palamboon sa probinsya sa Zamboanga del Norte pinaagi sa suporta sa DA-PRDP Scale-Up o uban pang funding institutions.

Sa imbitasyon sa IPLAN Component, ang tanang Division ug Banner Programs sa DA Regional Field Office 9 hiniusang nitambong sa JTR gipangulohan ni Regional Technical Director for Operations Maria Melba B. Wee aron marepaso ug mahibaluan ang plano sa probinsya.

Gipangayo usab kanila ang suhesyon sa angayang interventions o mga solusyon sa kasamtangang kakulangon ug giila ang mga ahensya nga makatabang aron mas mapalambo pa ang agri-fishery sector sa probinsya gikan sa produksyon, marketing hangtod sa infrastructure support.

Kahibaloan nga ang PCIP maoy mahimong basihan sa mga interventions ug proyekto nga pagapondohan sa DA-PRDP ug uban pang ahensya sa gobyerno.
