CLIMATE CARE Field Visit and Coordination Update | Strengthening Partnerships for Climate-Resilient Communities

The CLIMATE CARE Project, funded by the European Union in the Philippines and implemented by ChildFund Philippines in partnership with XAES Foundation Inc. and Ha Uman Assn Inc., successfully conducted a series of field monitoring and coordination visits across the project-covered barangays in the municipalities of Gutalac and Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.

Together with the Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), schools, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and government partners, the project team assessed the progress of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) initiatives, communal gardens, youth-led communication and advocacy activities, and sustainable livelihood interventions. The visits also served as an opportunity to finalize preparations for the establishment of indigenous tree nurseries, upcoming tree-planting activities, school-based awareness forums, and the Bamboo Propagation Training scheduled for August 2026.

These collaborative efforts continue to strengthen partnerships, enhance local capacities, and ensure that communities are well-prepared to implement climate-resilient, child-responsive, and sustainable initiatives. Through shared commitment and collective action, we are fostering safer, greener, and more resilient communities for both present and future generations.

Together, we protect our environment. Together, we strengthen our communities. Together, we build a climate-resilient future.

"Strengthening Partnerships for a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Future"

XAES Foundation, Inc. (XAESFI) proudly participated in the DENR Region IX Gawad Parangal 2026 held at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office IX, Barangay Balintawak, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Representing XAESFI was Mr. Ven Daniel O. Superable, CLIMATE CARE Project Coordinator, together with ChildFund Philippines' Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Nino Wilgie Cagas reaffirming the strong partnership between XAESFI, ChildFund Philippines, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in advancing community-based environmental conservation and climate resilience initiatives.

The event served as a meaningful opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of DENR's partner stakeholders across Region IX in promoting sustainable environmental management, biodiversity conservation, and climate adaptation efforts. XAESFI is honored to be recognized as one of DENR's valued partner organizations through the implementation of the CLIMATE CARE Project, particularly in collaboration with DENR's Project TRANSFORM (Transdisciplinary Approach for Resilience and Environmental Sustainability through Multi-Stakeholder Engagement).

Through this partnership, XAESFI continues to support the implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) by working closely with local government units, schools, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), youth, and vulnerable communities in the municipalities of Leon B. Postigo and Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte. Together, we are promoting reforestation, tree-growing initiatives, biodiversity conservation, watershed protection, and climate-adaptive community actions that contribute to building safer, greener, and more resilient communities.

XAESFI extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region IX for recognizing the valuable role of development partners in environmental stewardship. We also express our gratitude to ChildFund Philippines, the European Union in the Philippines, local government units, and all partner stakeholders for their unwavering support in achieving the shared vision of climate-resilient, child-responsive, and environmentally sustainable communities.

🌳 Trees are literally the OG climate heroes.

This World Arbor Day, let's remember that trees do more than make our surroundings look good. They clean the air, absorb carbon emissions, protect biodiversity, and help communities become more resilient to climate change.

So why does this matter? Because the future we're building depends on the actions we take today. Every tree planted is a step towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable world.

The planet doesn't need a few people to do sustainability perfectly—it needs all of us to do our part. 🌱💚

📍Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Communities

As part of the ongoing coordination and partnership-building efforts under the CLIMATE CARE Project funded by the European Union in the Philippines and implemented by ChildFund Philippines in partnership with XAES Foundation Inc. and Ha Uman Assn Inc.—courtesy visits were successfully conducted on June 11, 2026, to key government agencies and offices across Zamboanga del Norte.

The team visited the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PhilHealth, Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office, Provincial Department of Health Office (PDHO), Pag-IBIG Fund Dipolog City/Zamboanga del Norte Branch, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Provincial Office, and the Social Security System (SSS) Dipolog City Branch.

These engagements provided valuable opportunities to strengthen collaboration, discuss programs and services, and explore areas of cooperation that can further support communities and stakeholders. Through continued partnership and shared commitment, we aim to promote more responsive, inclusive, and impactful initiatives that contribute to the well-being and sustainable development of the communities we serve.
