LTO Ipil Continues to Transform Lives Through Free Driver Education

While many see a driver's license as a simple government-issued card, the LTO Land Transportation Ipil District Office sees it as a responsibility earned through knowledge, discipline, and respect for life.

Today, another batch of aspiring drivers took their first step toward becoming responsible road users through the Free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) Program of LTO Ipil. This initiative continues to open doors of opportunity for individuals who dream of obtaining a driver's license but may not have the financial means to enroll in private driving schools.

More than a free seminar, the program is an investment in safer roads and stronger communities. Every scholar educated on traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving, and road courtesy becomes a potential lifesaver—not only for themselves, but for every motorist, passenger, and pedestrian they encounter.

Under the leadership of Land Transportation Zamboanga Peninsula Office Regional Director Dr. Nordjiana Lucman Dipatuan-Ducol, and LTO Ipil District Office Chief SvTRO Jose Maria M. Gonzales, MPA, the men and women of LTO Ipil remain steadfast in their mission of making driver education accessible to all.

Through this continuing program, thousands of aspiring drivers have already been empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to become licensed, responsible, and law-abiding motorists.

Because at LTO Ipil, we believe that the safest roads are built not only through enforcement—but through education. Every scholar trained today is another life protected tomorrow.

A strong message has been sent: fake driver’s licenses have no place in Region IX.

Today, the Land Transportation Office Region IX, in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) – Pagadian District Office, successfully apprehended an individual allegedly involved in the illegal production and distribution of fake driver’s licenses in Pagadian City.

Demonstrating decisive and hands-on leadership, newly appointed Regional Director Dr. Nordjiana Lucman Dipatuan-Ducol, DPA personally joined the operation and inspection in the area where the illegal activities were allegedly being conducted—reflecting the agency’s unwavering commitment against corruption, fixers, and illegal transactions.

The production and circulation of fake driver’s licenses endanger public safety, weaken the integrity of government institutions, and place the lives of motorists and commuters at risk. This successful operation underscores the firm resolve of LTO Region IX to protect the credibility of the licensing system and ensure that only qualified, law-abiding individuals are allowed to drive on our roads.

This initiative strongly supports the Seven-Point Agenda of LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, particularly in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service.

LTO Region IX reminds the public to transact only through legitimate LTO channels and immediately report any illegal activities involving fake licenses and fixers.

No to fake licenses. No to fixers. Yes to lawful, honest, and safe public service.
