DON LAZARO MADARA MEMORIAL SCHOOL DON LAZARO MADARA MEMORIAL SCHOOL Don Lazaro Madara Memorial School started with a Kindergarten in 1976 with Mrs. Ester Mendez and Mrs. Amelia O. Norma I.

Adelaida Ampongan as the teachers with an enrolment of 62 pupils. The classroom was made of nipa, bamboo and coconut leaves. After two years enrolment increased, temporary classroom was constructed under the leadership of Arch. Melchor Nacario, President of the Iriga City Jaycees and other officers and members. Grades I-VI classes were opened but in multi- grade classes with Mrs. Calpe as the teac

her-adviser. The lot was donated by Ex-Judge Jose F. Madara, with an area of 10,000 sq m. the Heirs of Lazaro Madara, owner of the said lot. Additional classrooms were constructed with Mrs. Matubis as the Teacher In-charge and this was followed by several school heads. At present the school has a total population of 230 pupils from grades I to VI with seven teachers and administered by Mrs. Carmelita H. Tagum as the Head Teacher III.
