A Call to Action for Peace and Justice in Matagoan Zone, Tabuk City, province of Kalinga
As Christmas approaches, our community is gripped by fear and uncertainty due to the alarming rise in senseless killings. It's time for us to reflect on our role in addressing this crisis. We must work together to create a safer and more just society.
To Religious Leaders:
Let's focus on preaching the Gospel of Respect and Love, rather than competing for followers and members. Let's reach out to those who are lost and in need of guidance, rather than putting our energy in convincing church goers and practicing christian to join our congregation. Let’s prioritize building a community of compassion and understanding, rather than attacking others beliefs and practices. This is our CALLING.
To Government Officials:
While economic development is crucial, let's not forget the importance of peace and order. Without safety and security, progress is impossible. We urge you to prioritize the well-being of our citizens and allocate resources to ensure our community's safety.
To the Policeforce:
We count on you to keep us safe. Strategize to eliminate crime, and hold perpetrators accountable. Your salary is paid by our taxes, and we expect diligent service.
To Lawyers, Prosecutors, and Judges:
We urge you to uphold justice and mete out fitting punishment to those who break the law. Your role is crucial in maintaining peace and order.
To the Community:
Let's be vigilant and look out for one another. If you see something, say something. If you know something, bring it out. Report suspicious activity to the authorities and protect our neighbors and friends who may be in danger. Let us not be selfish and indifference towards the safety of others.
To Families:
If a family member has committed a crime, it's our responsibility to report them to the authorities. By staying silent, we become accomplices to their wrongdoing. Let's work together to create a culture of accountability and justice.
To our Papangat in Kalinga, let us reflect on our system of amicable settlement. While reconciliation is important, it's crucial that we balance it with justice. Those who commit heinous crimes intentionally should face the consequences of their actions and be held accountable under the law. Let's ensure that government resources and innocent people's money are not used to fulfill demands made by victims' families. Instead, let's focus on providing support to the victims and their families while allowing the justice system to take its course.
Together, we can build a safer, more just community. Let's take action now to ensure that Matagoan Zone, Tabuk City, Kalinga is a place where everyone can live in peace and harmony.
